'The Young And The Restless' News: Chris McKenna Joins Cast Of 'NCIS: New Orleans'Former “The Young and the Restless” actor, Chris McKenna [Ex- Detective Harding] announced he landed an exciting primetime role, according to CBS Soaps in Depth. In 2010, the handsome hunk appeared on “NCIS: Los Angeles” as an unnamed CIA agent. He briefly appeared in one episode before returning to “Y&R.”

The former daytime actor tweeted a picture of himself with the caption, “Seems like New Orleans PD needed some added muscle. Copy that. Officer Tate en route. ##NCISNewOrleans.”  Almost immediately fans began wishing him congratulations about his new role.

Chris McKenna announced yesterday that he was filming for the web series, “20 Seconds to Live: Christmas Morning.” Chris announced his episode would be part of season two—and there hasn’t been an official released date yet.

McKenna has been busy since his departure from “The Young and the Restless.” When he left the CBS soap opera, Chris explained he had desires of landing a gig in prime time; it looks like he got his Christmas wish.

At the moment, it isn’t being revealed if the role would be under contract or a reoccurring status. His fans and supporters are hoping the writers of “NCIS: New Orleans” give the talented stud a much better ending than he received on “Y&R.”

The Young and the Restless” fans were extremely upset about Detective Harding’s departure from the CBS soap opera. They placed all the blame of Courtney [Kelli Goss] and Austin’s [Matthew Atkinson] murders on his shoulders—transforming a once good cop to a corrupt dirty one.

Chris McKenna did not announce when his first episode will air. “NCIS: New Orleans” airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. When more information about Chris’ initial episode is known, Soap Opera Spy will let you know.  Are you excited about seeing Chris McKenna in primetime television?
