‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Is Joe Clark Avery’s Rapist or Wrongly Accused?

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Is Joe Clark Avery's Rapist or Wrongly Accused?

On “The Young and the Restless” Joe Clark [Scott Elrod] arrived in Genoa City for several reasons but the main one was to get his ex-wife Avery [Jessica Collins] back.

While Joe and Avery were married Joe was a workaholic and did not give Avery enough “cuddle” time so Avery hooked up with her former love Dylan McAvoy. [Steve Burton] Understandably, Joe does not like Dylan, but what man wouldn’t hate the guy who stole his wife?

Joe Clark arrived in GC via Victor Newman [Eric Braeden]. Joe was supposed to take Dylan’s business Crimson Lights down along with Dylan McAvoy and that certainly worked for Joe considering he despised Dylan.

During the whole “take over” fiasco Joe tried to get close to ex-wife Avery. Avery for the most part did not seem to want his unwanted advances, at lease not at first. The writers started writing Joe’s character all over the place. They even showed us a scene between Joe and Austin [Matthew Atkinson]. We saw Austin getting angry with Joe about getting paid for some kind of “camera work” Joe wanted him to do. Joe finally threw the money he owed Austin on the ground and walked away. What was that about? Did Austin and Joe know each other? Well it looks like we will never know the answer because they have already taken Austin off the canvas and Joe is next to go.

Let’s move up to Valentines 2015, Joe saw Avery at The Underground, and the two started to reminisce about the good times they had together. Avery never had one memory of Joe abusing her. When Joe was flirting with Avery Dylan as usual got pissed but this time he threw a punch that accidently hit Avery in the face FREEZE FRAME that scene. The writers are now trying to convince us that Joe Clark abused Avery while they were married. My question is why didn’t Avery have a flash of Joe hitting her when Dylan accidently struck her?

Shortly after that incident The Underground Roof caved in Joe and Avery were stuck under the rubble they seemed to be getting close, the writers were slowly bringing the two characters together and some fans of “Y&R” were rooting for a Joe/Avery pairing. Joe obviously survived the roof collapse and yet again the writers flipped Joe’s character. Because of Joe’s near death experience Joe decided to go “good” and sponsor a battered women foundation and asked Avery to be the Attorney for the worthy non-profit organization. Avery of course thought it was wonderful. Joe confided in Avery about his horrible childhood and Avery praises him for changing his life and being one of the good guys. During all of this, Avery did not once bring up his “alleged” abusive behavior.

Joe and Avery start to get close during the benefit for Joe’s foundation. After the success of the evening the two were alone in his room and went out to the balcony, Joe kissed Avery and she did not protest and then he kissed her again and Avery shoved Joe so hard he went over the balcony, which resulted in him becoming paralyzed.

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Is Joe Clark Avery's Rapist or Wrongly Accused?

Avery guilt ridden vowed to help him walk again. During Joe’s recovery Avery pampered & encouraged Joe and never wanted to leave his side. Avery was behaving like the dutiful wife! Never did we see one sign of her being afraid of Joe.

When Avery found out that Joe could walk and he was hiding it she went off the deep end. The strong and confident lawyer that never showed any signs off being unbalanced hopped right on the crazy train. The Avery we knew for years disappeared and we were left with a crazy hysterical revenge driven woman.

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Is Joe Clark Avery's Rapist or Wrongly Accused?

Now that the writers have changed Avery they have decided to turn Joe into a woman abuser. They have gone so far as to give Avery flashbacks of Joe shaking her and verbally abusing her. Gone is the confident Avery who went toe-to-toe with Ian Ward [Ray Wise] and we have a frightened little bird.

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Is Joe Clark Avery's Rapist or Wrongly Accused?

Avery is so frightened of Joe she went so far as to get a restraining order YET she broke it every chance she got. Avery even convinced Joe to meet her in Chancellor Park where she threatened him all alone in the dark. She certainly does not act like someone who is scared of Big Bad Joe.

Shortly after Avery’s confrontation with Joe Avery went home and ended up being beaten and raped.

So whom does she blame? Well of course Joe Clark! Why is she blaming Joe? Out of malice? Is she losing her mind or does she really believe Joe raped her?

Avery told Paul [Doug Davidson] the rapist’s cologne was just like Joes’ but she did admit she didn’t see the rapist’s face but she assured Paul it was Joe. Right now opinions are split on if Joe is guilty. The D.A. Christine being a rape victim herself believes Avery but her husband and Chief of Police Paul is not convinced.

It appears the “Y&R” writers are most definitely setting the canvas up for a “who shot Joe Clark?” Who are the candidates for the shooting? 1) Cane [Daniel Goddard] knows his wife Lily [Cristal Khalil] slept with Joe and he is furious. 2) Dylan loathes Joe and even tied Joe up to a chair and threatened his life right after the rape. 3) Avery is dead set on taking Joe’s life because in her eyes he took her life with Dylan. She has even said she wants Joe DEAD! 4) Phyllis [Gina Tognoni] told Avery she would get Joe.

Since Jessica Collins has taped her final “The Young and the Restless” scenes we know Avery will not be in Genoa City for much longer. The question here is does everything we know about Joe Clark point to a monster that beats up women and rapes them? TPTB at “Y&R” seem to not know what to do with Joe’s character so they decided to make him a monster.

There has been one constant thing with Joe’s character and that is his sincere love for Avery, it has never waivered. But now TPTB want us all to believe that Joe beat her to a pulp and raped her? Not a chance, sources indicate that Joe Clark is not Avery’s rapist. Sources also say that the end of Joe and Avery will be a tragic one with at least one or more deaths involved. Stay tuned to CBS’s Y&R as the tragic ending of Joe and Avery relationship unfolds.

Will you miss Joe and Avery SOS’ers? Do you think Joe is the rapist? Are you please with how “The Young and the Restless” has changed these two characters?

Avery was credible lawyer until recently turned into an idiot by woman hater writers/CP. No need for violence & rape. Even Joe has been unfairly depicted as a evil man. Why this need for violence against women? It has reached the limit with murders, rapes, and Dylan’s rages. All with the sole view of humiliating
women, even Nikki who helped build the show, now stumbling drunk every second day! I call it the Young & Ridiculous!

Do we know for sure that Austin is dead? A dead body just doesn’t walk away. I’m almost certain that Austin is the rapist brainwashed by Ian Ward. I don’t think he killed Courtney, I think Fenmore killed Courtney.
