‘General Hospital’ (GH) News: Nancy Lee Grahn Takes A Stand Against Confederate Flag On Twitter

'General Hospital' (GH) News: Nancy Lee Grahn Takes A Stand Against Confederate Flag On Twitter“General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) just returned to Twitter this week after taking nearly a month off from social media after the messy Viola Davis scandal.  Nancy has barely been back on social media for 24 hours and she is already tackling a controversial issue – Confederate flags.  Now, after being accused by an army of angry GH fans of being racist, tweeting about Confederate flags is pretty daring, regardless of what side of the argument she is on.

For those of you who don’t remember (seriously though, how could you not?), “General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn tweeted a few statements about Viola Davis’s 2015 Emmy Award speech that were seriously misconstrued.  Nancy tweeted that she didn’t like Viola’s speech – and joked that she should have had Shonda Rhimes write it for her.  Then, she added that Viola Davis was considered an elite actress, so she really didn’t know that much about being discriminated against.

Now, anyone who is familiar with Grahn knows that her heart was in the right place – she just has an issue with speaking her mind and not carefully choosing her words.  Regardless, at the end of the day Nancy still apologized for her statements, even though she meant nothing bad by them and insisted she was far from racist.

On Tuesday October 20th Nancy Lee Grahn hopped on Twitter and tweeted a photo of the Mississippi state flag – which happens to be half of a Confederate flag.  Today Senators in Mississippi are voting on whether the flag will be taken down at a Mississippi University.  Nancy tweeted that “there was no excuse” and the flag needed to be taken down ASAP, only further proving that she is far from racist.

Nancy’s heart is obviously in the right place – but she might want to just avoid controversial topics, especially race-related ones on social media for a while.  What do you guys think?  Share your thoughts in the comments below!
