‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Serena Gets a Surprise Visit, Paul Tefler Appears as Xander – Melissa Archer Out at DOOL?

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers reveal that Serena Mason (Melissa Archer) will have an unexpected visitor, but it seems Melissa Archer may have received an unexpected pink slip. The rumors indicate that Archer is out and Serena will soon be leaving Salem. Daytime Confidential’s sources say that the decision to let Archer go was made before Dena Higley and Josh Griffith took over as head writers. You may or may not be a fan of Melissa Archer’s acting ability, but most of us can agree that Serena’s storyline has been lackluster to say the least. The character has served no purpose other than to annoy Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and swap an ugly elephant statue. “Days” viewers didn’t know what was inside the elephant and they didn’t care. Why should they? Serena has been treated as a plot rather than a character. It makes sense that when Serena’s dull storyline finally fizzles, Melissa Archer will have to hit the road as well.

Many “Days of Our Lives” fans had high hopes for Archer when she first appeared in Salem. After all, she was an established soap vet. Archer spent many years playing the part of Natalie Buchanan on “One Life to Live.” However, experience means nothing if the audience can’t connect with your new role. The same scenario played out when Chrishell Stause, who portrayed Amanda Dillon on “All My Children,” came to DOOL as Jordan Ridgeway. You can only keep viewers in the dark for so long before they start to lose interest. In other words, a big reveal is only exciting if fans actually care about the secret.

Still, they’ve started all this elephant business and they might as well finish it. Now that Serena has the diamonds, she’ll receive a surprise visit from the boss we’ve been hearing about. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers hint that Nicole will spot a handsome stranger in town and this character sounds like a good fit. Soap Opera Spy previously reported that the mystery man was rumored to be someone DOOL viewers would recognize. Paul Tefler recently played Damon, a hit man hired by Victor (John Aniston), and now he’ll be back as Xander, the mastermind of Serena’s scheme. Perhaps Tefler’s appearances will spice things up a little or at least provide some extra eye candy. Stay tuned to the NBC soap to see Xander make his grand entrance.
