'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Jack Considers Using Gloria – Lauren Is In Trouble

Jack (Peter Bergman) surely didn’t think Gloria (Judith Chapman) would be helpful on ‘The Young and the Restless’. And, if truth be told, his former mother-in-law’s intentions aren’t fully legitimate. Yet, sometimes business involves working with enemies in order to make perceived progress.

Hardcore fans recall the great arc that saw Gloria marry John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) during the last decade. The Abbott clan was understandably suspicious of Gloria’s claims of love, but time proved she sincerely cared for him. However, resultant issues surrounding Gloria’s involvement with a Jabot face cream and matters related to John’s will served to cement resentment for her where Jack was concerned.

Lauren (Tracey Bregman) was shocked to see her mother-in-law looking at her laptop this week. Gloria suspected something was off with Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) wife since she first arrived (unexpectedly) in Genoa City at Christmastime. Sure enough, Gloria’s visual review of Fenmore’s descending financial bar graphs confirmed what was wrong.

Gloria was listening in her bedroom after Jack arrived to make his pitch to buy Fenmore’s. Jack’s offer to become an ‘investor’ wasn’t received well, as Lauren told Mr. Abbott that she would never allow him to buy her company and then sell off key store locations.

Jack responded by saying he’d allay her fears by putting in writing any wanted contingencies. Lauren rejected his counteroffer, as she planned to continue looking for a better investor.

Later, after he left, Gloria phoned Jack and set up a meeting. His curiosity was peaked when Gloria offered to help him achieve the desired deal, as long as she had a role to play in Lauren’s overtaken company.

Lauren will surely be furious when she realizes what Gloria did behind her back. However, knowing ‘Glo’, it’s always possible that she’s trying to set Jack up.

With wherever this storyline flows, Y&R fans are thrilled that new co-executive producer and head writer Sally Sussman has written Gloria back into the story. The great Judith Chapman has already stolen several scenes and is sure to fill every frame indefinitely.
