‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jack Takes Major Risk By Retaining Red At Jabot

The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Jack Takes Major Risk By Retaining Red At JabotJack (Peter Bergman) didn’t think things through on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Did he seek a legal opinion about Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) claim that she could take half of Jabot if he didn’t let her remain employed at his family’s company? But, logic isn’t being considered where the soon-to-be ex-Mrs. Abbott is concerned. No, Jack’s love for Phyllis is ruling his mind and that establishes a major risk.

So, what’s new here? Jack overcame Phyllis’ indiscretion ages ago when she pursued a relationship with Nick. That connection produced Summer (Hunter King), who Jack delivered in an elevator as longtime viewers recall. Therefore the idea that ‘Red’ was going to be completely cut out of Jack’s life was likely all talk. Jack could have easily rejected Phyllis’ counter offer, battled her in court for years and moved on with his life. At no time during that process would ‘Red’ have been allowed inside the Jabot corporate facilities.

By bowing to Phyllis’ divorce demand Jack has ensured that the love of his life will be visible on a daily basis. Regardless of the location of the storage room she was assigned to, Phyllis’ mere proximity to the man she claims to still love will create repeated contact opportunities. No fan needs to have a doctorate degree in psychology, or a marriage counseling certification, to conclude that Jack has intentionally left the door to his heart open.

Smilin’ Jack tried the ‘Calm Charlie’ approach during the last year. He decided last month that his personality plan failed and then claimed he was going to go old-school rogue. But, putting Victor (Eric Braeden) on his umpteenth notice and quitting the foundation he and Neil (Kristoff St. John) recently started proved to be business bluster. When faced with his first serious personal challenge, Jack caved to a woman he’s loved for years. Now, he better hope that ‘Philly’ is truly dead. Because if it isn’t there’s no telling how he’ll respond to Billy’s (Jason Thompson) attempt to win ‘Red’ back.
