‘General Hospital’ POLL: Are You Team Carly or Team Sonny? VOTE!

'General Hospital' POLL: Are You Team Carly or Team Sonny? VOTE!‘General Hospital’ (GH) fans have been very divided on this controversial issue, so why not take our poll and tell us who you are behind for once and for all?

When GH’s young Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) was tragically killed in a car bomb meant for Julian Jerome (William DeVry), all hell literally broke loose in Port Charles. Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) was at the scene and was unable to save him. PCPD’s Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was on the scene shortly, only to realize the victim of the bombing was his youngest brother. When Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) heard the news, he was heartbroken, to the point that he was handcuffed to the police car to avoid hindering the search and rescue team.

General Hospital’s Sonny Corinthos may be a very powerful man, but when it comes to his family and children, he is nothing but heart. Not only did Sonny have to cope with the death of his son, he is also dealing with guilt. Some fans strongly believe, Sonny needs to pay for his crimes, but maybe if they sat back and looked at the whole picture, they would understand what Sonny is feeling right now.

His guilt isn’t just because of his business dealings. He has guilt coming from all directions. He failed as a father for being unable to protect his son. He failed, in his mind, because he was the one who gave Morgan the bipolar disorder. Yes, he lied to his wife, Carly (Laura Wright) about not retaliating, so there was guilt there, but the last and biggest reason he felt guilt is because he didn’t know if his ‘hit’ on Julian was truly called off, and ultimately making him the murderer of his own son.

Sonny is broken right now. His baby boy is dead, his wife bailed on him. His oldest son is determined to throw him behind bars and toss out the key. He is clearly not taking his bipolar medication, drinking way too much and is in a manic-depressive state, to the point that he is willing to kill himself. How much more can a man lose?

General Hospital’s Carly Corinthos has always been able to stand on her own two feet, and fight her own battles for the most part. Right now, she is as broken as Sonny is, but instead of comforting him, she pushes him away and hates him. Of course, her feelings towards him would be very conflicted, because up until now she strongly believed Sonny killed their son, accident or not. Carly fans will stand behind her through everything, but she needs to accept her part in this too.

Carly has married Sonny numerous times, knowing exactly who and what kind of man he is; exchanging vows with him proves that she accepted his life-style. The problem here is she has no problem accepting him killing other people, but when her children or family become casualties of war, she acts like the Sonny she knows is nothing like that.

With Sonny spiraling out of control, and broken-hearted in front of the people at Morgan’s funeral, how could she not stand up and try to comfort him? She knows about his manic episodes and is pretty much the only person who has been able to pull him out of them; so how cold-hearted is she to not respond to desperate calls from family and friends to help him through this? She may hate him, but he is still a father, who is on the brink.

Please take the poll and let us know whose side you are on. Both have their good and bad moments, but right now, whose team are you on: Carly’s or Sonny’s?
