The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) reached her limit. Learning that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was again kidnapped was just too much to take.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) intentionally didn’t return his wife’s multiple calls and texts. He didn’t want to hear what she had to say and wasn’t going to alter what he thought were impenetrable plans anyway.
Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters), and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) used a tip and found Jack. He was confined on a yacht in Lake Michigan with a highly surprising companion, Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk).
Victor Newman Is Off His Game
Victor is doing something he often doesn’t. His outlook, which some might dub bravado or arrogance, is rooted in having earned and maintained power over fifty-plus years in soap-time.
Devoted viewers know that Braeden joined the cast in 1980 and that Newman Enterprises so-called fiftieth anniversary was celebrated in 2023. That creative use of time happened so it could match the debut year (1973) of this great, enduring soap opera.
So, losing control of his business and to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) through to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has shaken Victor to his core.
His resulting kidnapping ruse with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) didn’t produce any results, which led to Jack actually being abducted and paired with another character he loathes, Patty.
Nikki Newman Was Right From The Beginning
Nikki has backed her husband most of the time. She’s often found a way to rationalize Victor’s behavior through the decades and their multiple marriages.
But she knew the artificial intelligence program was too dangerous and told him as soon as that option was mentioned in dialogue. Many viewers surely agreed with Nikk’s perspective and projection, which has proven true.
That’s partially why Victor is so angry. In his mind, he’s never wrong. But if truth be told, as is hard for him to do in his mind, he knows that Nikki’s protective instincts have almost always been on the mark.
So, telling her she has to leave the Ranch because he perceives her as being loyal to his nemesis, Jack, is hardly news.
How long it takes for the feuding couple to reconcile might be tied to the resolution of the current hostilities among all involved parties in this extended storyline that dates back to last summer.
Diane Jenkins Abbott Believes Her Vows Were Violated
Victor not only wanted to kidnap Jack to force Phyllis to return Newman Enterprises to him. He also intended this tactic to split the Abbotts.
In the short-term, Victor will win that battle. He’ll successfully convince Diane, another person that disgusts him, that Jack wronged her.
However, viewers know that Jack was drugged and never intended to be with Patty, much less revive their long-ago romance.
Diane will learn the truth in time, but much drama will play out in Lake Michigan and in Genoa City, Wisconsin, before that happens.
