It looks like Victor will have to decide whether he’s willing to team up with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to ruin Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) Chancellor takeover plan.
Of course, Cane isn’t Victor’s favorite person either! This may be a situation where Victor has to determine who he loathes more – and Billy may win out in the end.
Cane knows Victor is the kind of guy who gets things done. Victor also has some extreme disdain for Billy, so Cane may hope he can use that to his advantage.
Perhaps Cane will seek Victor out and explain Billy’s claims about the loan debt that was never repaid.
John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) provision means the Abbotts are entitled to Chancellor, but that’s not going to work for Victor.
Cane may acknowledge that Victor doesn’t want him on the Chancellor throne, but he also doesn’t have real power the way Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) does.
Y&R fans know Cane is just the CEO that Lily put in place, so she’s really in charge.
The company still belongs to Lily – or at least it did when Victor traded it for her help in the fake kidnapping fiasco. Victor was OK with giving the company to Lily back then, so Cane may remind him of that gift.
Now Billy’s intel suggests Jill Abbott (last played by Lauren Koslow) duped Victor into buying a company that wasn’t hers to sell.
That news may rile Victor up, but he’ll be especially angry over the idea of the Abbotts being entitled to Chancellor.
Victor definitely won’t want Billy running things, so Cane may urge him to put their differences aside and focus on a common goal.
Cane and Victor may be foes most of the time, but they could come together against Billy before long.
Whatever the case, Cane will find an ally against Billy during the week of August 17-21, which is also when Victor will launch a scheme to dispute Billy’s claims. Will Victor cook up some proof that suggests Billy is lying or wrong about his discovery?
Victor has been known to fake evidence, so he might come up with some if need be. Perhaps Victor could arrange for some additional documents and make it look like the loan was paid off after all.
Regardless, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy has more struggles in his future, so stay tuned.
