Y&R Spoilers: Patty Drags Matt Back To The Dark Side?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) has been searching his wretched soul for contrition. As such, he’s confronted Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) as if they can sprinkle holy water on him and make his past go away.

That’s not going to happen and by approaching Patty he did he open up a Pandora’s box of evil?

Matt’s Search for Meaning

Last week Matt surprised Patti in prison. He’s trying to turn over a new leaf but she was anything but encouraging. Patti droned on about how she and he will forever be evil and toxic and that will never change.

It was a disturbing speech but is she wrong or right? Matt wanted to hear that he has redeeming qualities but Patty focused on his dark deeds.

Can Matt Change?

The fact that Matt sought Patty out could be taken one of two ways. She was the first person who befriended him in GC and perhaps he truly wanted a pep talk, some reassurance that he’s not evil.

Or, since everyone knows that Patty is evil, maybe he wanted to see for himself how unlike her he is?

Are Matt and Patty Evil?

Instead of a pep talk, Patty reiterated to Matt that he has a dark side that will win out in the end because that’s who he is.

He was downtrodden after the visit, with Patty trying to remove all hope from Matt about his future and convince him that his core is evil.

Can Matt Change?

And yet Matt tried to atone by apologizing for ghosting her after Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) came along. Not that Phyllis is a much better influence than Patty.

Can Phyllis help Matt become a better person or will she, too, drag him down? It would be a good start if she got him in therapy rather than confiding in the town loons.

Matt has a heavy past full of drugs, assault, prison, attempted murder and much more. Matt is a sociopath and it will be hard to keep him rehabbed.
