Y&R Spoilers: Martin Laurent’s Return Twist? The Evidence Against Dr. Markham

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate that that the number one rated daytime drama may be playing tricks on fans, and we’re here for it! Is the soap passing off an old character as a new one? Definitely maybe!

Who is Laurence Markham?

Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) is new to the canvas and fans are sussing out some sinister possibilities in comparison to Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) who locked away Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in a decrepit clinic.

At the time bad twin Martin was masquerading as his brother, good twin Dr. Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins).

Twisted Experiment?

Diane Jenkins Abbott’s (Susan Walters) captivity sitch is very similar to Phyllis and Sharon’s ordeal.

Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) is paying Dr. Markham to gaslight Diane and keep her hostage and this is the very sort of thing that Martin would delight in.

And then there’s the fact that the name Laurence Markham is a perfect foil for Martin Laurent—we knew this sounded fishy!

More Clues

But wait, there’s more! More clues, that is. In the June 15 episode fans will see Markham’s bookshelf stuffed with Alan Laurent’s books, and his mark (get it?) Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) is an immediate part of this plot.

Traci sees Markham with Patty and tells Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about the weird guy.
It wasn’t that long ago that Traci was tricked by Martin, who pretended to be Alan during their romance.

We are hard pressed at this point to reject the notion that Laurence Markham isn’t Martin Laurent.
Martin’s Newest Identity?

In the past Patty got plastic surgery to look like her psychiatrist, Dr. Emily Peterson (Stacy Haiduk) and that’s another coincidence that’s hard to ignore.

Maybe Martin underwent a similar procedure at the same facility as Patty and they are now in cahoots?

Right now we are speculating about the case, but there’s no denying that Martin is a great imposter.

Very spicy The Young and the Restless spoilers hint at surprises coming for Diane and others involved in this very intriguing plot.
