The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has taken Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Ethan Ray Clark).
For the time being, the little boy is having fun. However, the longer that he goes without seeing his parents, the more questions he will have.
When Mariah finally has the talk with the little boy, he might not be as cooperative as Ian Ward (Ray Wise) suggested. Keep reading to find out what could happen next in this storyline.
Mariah Copeland’s Cover Story
Let’s start off with Mariah, who has secretly kidnapped Dominic. The woman knows that she can’t possibly get away with this crime. However, Ian Ward (Ray Wise) keeps pushing her to take the next bold step.
So far, Dom is having a lot of fun with Mariah. However, he is asking about his parents at the same time.
In the episode that aired on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Mariah told the little boy that Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) were running late. However, that’s only going to work for so long.
Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor’s Fear
Mariah has been a part of Dominic’s life since he was born. While she had to distance herself after his birth, Dom knows that Mariah is a family friend.
Dom also knows that Mariah is nice to him and is friends with his parents. So, for now, Dom doesn’t realize that anything is wrong. The boy does miss his parents, though.
Ian Ward’s Cruel Suggestion
The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Ian told Mariah to tell Dominic that his parents gave him away.
Mariah reasoned that the boy would never believe that as he knows how much he is loved. However, Ian sparkled it up by saying Mariah and Dom could be family to each other.
While that sounds great in theory, Dom seems to be quite a direct little boy. So, I’m not sure if that will work on him.
Hostage Won’t Cooperate?
What if when Mariah claims that Dom’s parents gave him away, he doesn’t believe it. Mariah might think that in a few days, he will accept it. What if it doesn’t, though?
Instead of going with Mariah willingly, Dominic could have a tantrum or scream for help. If someone hears him, that could be a very big complication for Mariah.
Since she seems to be taking a page out of Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) playbook, I wonder if she will just get worse. Could Mariah resort to drugging the boy if he won’t cooperate? Will Mariah actually disappear with Dom, only for the boy to come back to Genoa City years later?
