The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Lily Becomes The Pursuer – Victor Makes Good On Chancellor Promise?

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) has turned the corner. She saw what the intense pressure she helped apply did to her former husband, the father of her twins.

Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) belief that Lily and their children were being held captive by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) created incredible heartbreak.

He was willing to become the Moustache’s pitchman in an attempt to free Newman Enterprises from Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) grasp.

Victor learned that Cane had no leverage while at the same time conning him into thinking Lily and the twins were actually in danger.

They never were. All has flipped now that Flynn’s character feels that a relationship with Lily and the twins isn’t possible.

Flipping The Emotional Script Has Consequences

Lily realizes that she made a mistake by using her anger to try to teach Cane a lesson. There’s no doubt that he did learn the hard way, but she’s terribly guilty and wants to make amends.

Cane has broken his alliance, or whatever they had, on multiple occasions with Phyllis. He couldn’t care less about her, with both parties using each other for attempted gain.

But Lily was different. The restoration of what was their family drove Cane during the six years that this character was off-screen, as the fans learned.

However, realizing that she betrayed his trust has radically altered his outlook.

Cane Ashby Isn’t Done With Lily Winters

Cane is upset, and he has every right to be, as Lily realizes. She’s hoping that his anger is temporary rather than representing a paradigm shift.

Devoted viewers must believe that Cane’s emotions will settle, especially if Lily can serve as a soother with the twins. Being cut out of his children’s lives, along with Lily’s refusal to consider reconciliation, broke Cane’s spirit.

But his mind is still intact, and he’s resilient. So, with time and plot space, he should recognize that he’s no longer the pursuer in this love rematch. Lily is pursuing him.

This has always felt like a long game, with Cane making the initial effort, Lily rightfully being suspicious of his intentions, and then an intermediary period where the storyline grows toward a realized climax.

Victor Newman Driven By The Orphanage Years

Victor is, without question, the most cantankerous soul in Genoa City, Wisconsin. And yes, he has a soul, as Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) most recently saw when her quixotic grandfather became misty-eyed and referenced his orphanage years.

As Victor said, his hard childhood affects him still. He’s always looking over his shoulder for a real or perceived threat. Along with that, he naturally wants to reclaim the conglomerate that he built.

That wink to the ridiculously rebranded Summers Conglomerate was intended. So is Victor’s aim to get his company back. To do so, he plans to give Chancellor to Lily.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be punished in that sequence, with Phyllis and Cane’s discipline scheduled at a later daytime date.
