Y&R Spoilers: Is The Nick Newman Storyline Going In The Wrong Direction?

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but wonder this same thing: is the Nick Newman storyline going in the wrong direction?

Or has all of this been written purposely just to get Nick’s portrayer, actor Joshua Morrow, an Emmy nomination?

Is The Nick Newman Storyline Going In The Wrong Direction?

Whatever the case, it seems like a lot of viewers believe that Nick’s storyline might be going in the wrong direction, just because the writers want to give the actor an award.

After all, Nick used to be a very solid character but now it seems like he keeps digging even deeper with his substance abuse problems.

And it’s not like fans want to see Nick get help at this point, they just want to see this storyline done with and over.

It goes without saying that Y&R fans have had a lot to say about the matter. Some have even commented with, “Personally, I think the writers should stop giving Sharon and Nick the heavy hitting storylines.”

“High drama is not their strength. While many of the show’s strong actors are sitting around restaurants talking business, Nick and Sharon are always in danger, getting in people’s faces and over-emoting. It just does not work.”

What’s Next For Nick Newman?

Another critic wrote, “Well if that’s the case it’s backfired. I’ve always liked Joshua Morrow playing good guy Nick but IMO his acting on this drug addict, ‘I’m an angry rebel’ storyline is not great.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I can see why people can get or be disappointed in the character Nick. He is traditionally a good guy and everybody loves that. But sometimes it’s good to separate Nick, the character, from the actor.”

“Joshua has done an excellent job at transitioning the character from the hero. To The exhausted hero.”

Then again, Y&R fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.
