Y&R Spoilers: Is It Time For Cane & Phyllis To Conquer Victor and The Newman Family?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers show that the Newman family is on the rocks after Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) unleashed a digital nuclear winter on them.

Fans are now debating the validity of continuing the Newman legacy—is it time for the complicated family to step aside and let someone else rule GC?

There are plenty of yays and nays to this argument, let’s delve right in and see where your opinion lands!

Time for Victor to GO?

One could argue that Victor should lose everything if he’s dim enough to let a rogue AI program wipe out his empire.

Victor built his empire the classic way—squashing opponents like bugs. He even has a little in-home prison for those he especially dislikes.

Is this the type of mogul whose time has come and gone? If the answer is yes, who is there to replace him?

Cane Ashby Deserves His Shot

Cane is the one who unleashed the mayhem on NE so is he worthy to take Victor’s big boy seat? He and partner Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) are poised to become the next power couple and they want Victor to pay for his business and personal crimes.

We can’t argue that Victor was very wrong to bring a Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) imposter named Marco to town to fool Phyllis all those years ago. In light of his past crimes against humanity, maybe it would do Victor good to feel vulnerable.

The Newmans Need to Step Aside?

There are also fans who have sat through decades of Newman vs. Abbott and whoever else gets in Victor’s way. After 40 years, I need a new dress, I don’t know about you.

Is the audience still invested in this smelly old feud? How would they know—they haven’t sniffed anything else in years!

Then again, one could argue that NE is part of the show’s incredible history and as such needs to stay.
