Y&R Spoilers: Cane’s Secret Power Emerges — Phyllis Ignites All-Out War

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) has one last trick up his sleeve. He has an unknown poison pill planted inside the artificial intelligence program Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) controls.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is thrilled to learn this news, believing she needed to steal the AI program back from Victor, after giving it to him in what turned out to be a bad deal for her. Some assumed that Phyllis might have planted a trigger tool inside the program before she gave it to the Moustache.

This makes Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) offer of trading Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) for the AI weapon more complex. Hopefully, Cane, Phyllis, or both will clue him in soon.

Victor Newman Isn’t Always King Of The Hill

Victor always assumes that he knows more than everyone else. At times, he has. But as Jack recently told Cane, he (Flynn’s character) had Victor on the run. So, teaming up with Jack could produce an outcome they could relish and that the head of Newman Enterprises deserves.

Cane took Jack’s compliment in stride because he was reeling from the loss of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). She’s left town and will be gone for an indefinite period.

Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) efforts to secure Matt give the Abbott family greater leverage than even Jack anticipated. But that could be lost if Cane unleashes the AI program on Victor.

Phyllis Summers Has An Open Field

Phyllis is all over Cane. She won’t let him alone, and he continues to tell her to bug off, with a wink implied to to condescending nickname Phyllis has long called her initial rival, the recently remarried Christine Romalotti (Lauralee Bell).

Cane wants Lily, but realizes that she might be a lost cause. At the very least, she’ll be with their daughter through the winter and likely into the spring. Fans know that Khalil’s anticipated maternity leave has the actor off the show for a while.

While Cane isn’t in love with Phyllis. She is throwing herself at him, and he’s now more vulnerable than ever, especially with Lily having left town. So, it’s plausible that the writing staff pairs Flynn’s and Stafford’s characters as intermediary filler until Khalil returns to the cast.

Cane Ashby Seeks Revenge Or A Deal?

Cane probably won’t vaporize Newman Enterprises, though Phyllis, Jack, Kyle, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters), and many others would applaud him for doing so. That result would certainly create a reaction from Victor that would likely have no precedent.

Alternatively, Cane may try to broker a resurrection vehicle. He might not want Arabesque to be restored, but could force Victor to make good on some form of financial restitution.

However, Phyllis is in Cane’s ear, and she wants Victor to suffer. The soapy ball is in the former Aristotle Dumas’ non-chateau court. Viewers are waiting to see how he plays it.
