The Young and the Restless spoilers say that this is a storyline that we’ve definitely seen before. Of course, we are talking about Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and her supposed brain tumor.

And while there have been other characters who have dealt with life and death situations in the past, it seems like there are as many brain tumors on the show as there are kidnappings these days, and yes, fans are over it.

But when it comes to this particular storylines, many The Young and the Restless fans can’t help but feel triggered over it. That’s because a lot of fans believe that the writers just haven’t gotten any medical storylines right yet.

As our loyal readers can imagine, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “My daughter has a brain tumour, it’s dead centre so inoperable. I hope they don’t screw around with this storyline. I’ll probably be skipping past it, pretty triggering.”

“But then again, this is the show that had Noah’s breathing tube connected in a loop. Don’t bet they’ll have an actual neurosurgeon consulting on this storyline.”

Another critic wrote, “All situations are different. My mother had a tumor removed from the front part of her brain. And she had to go through regular cranial surgery. Naturally, we were all nervous wrecks until we heard that she was going to be ok. And she still is.”

What’s Next For Nikki Newman?

“I wish these writers (I know, wishful thinking) would actually try learning about how medical problems really work and are treated.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I’m sure the oncologist treating her will slowly become obsessed with her resulting in him kidnapping her in the same abandoned facility where Martin held Phyllis and Sharon (to save money on sets).”

“The story will culminate with the doctor turning out to be Tricia McNeil who had a sex change and extensive plastic surgery to come back and reap vengeance on the newmans because of her hatred of Victoria.”
