Prince William’s wife nearly broke the internet this week when she pulled up to a royal engagement, driving herself.
Onlookers watched in awe as Kate Middleton carefully pulled in to a parking spot and opened her own door and stepped out. Is there ANYTHING the Duchess Of Cambridge can’t do?
Kate Middleton never ceases to amaze Royal followers. Just when we thought she couldn’t be even more of a People’s Princess, she starts driving herself to engagements.
Prince William and his wife have worked hard to live a humble and “normal” life, mostly for their kids’ sake. We can all agree that Meghan Markle would NEVER.
Kate Middleton Says “I’ll drive myself!”
According to People Magazine, “On Jan. 15, the Princess of Wales and Patron of England’s Women’s Rugby team hosted a reception at Windsor Castle to celebrate the squad’s World Cup win in September 2025 and seemed to drive herself there.
Fan footage shared to X showed Princess Kate, 44, exiting a black car from the driver’s side, which is on the right side of vehicles in the U.K.”
There are some wild theories floating around social media about why Will’s wife drove herself to the event. Some Royal critics think there could have been a disagreement between Kate and her staff, which resulted in the Duchess insisting on driving herself rather than allowing a staff member. Other rumors hint she could be at odds with the Royals and didn’t trust their driver.
The Royal’s New Location
But, there’s actually another logical explanation. Last Fall Prince William and Kate moved from Adelaide Cottage to Forrester Lodge. The event that Kate Middleton drover herself to was right down the road. It would have taken her longer to wait for a ride than it did to hop in the car and drive for two minutes.
