Today Show Welcomes Hoda Kotb Back Amid Savannah Guthrie Crisis

Today Show Welcomes Hoda Kotb Back Amid Savannah Guthrie CrisisToday Show viewers were in for a surprise when they tuned in to the daytime show on Friday February 6, fan fave Hoda Kotb made an unexpected return.

With Savannah Guthrie out of work due to her mother’s disappearance, it makes sense that the senior host would return to her Today Show family.  Hoda’s return appears to be temporary, here’s what we know so far.

Hoda Kotb Returns To Today Show

Hoda Kotb officially retired and left the Today Show over a year ago, back in 2025.  On the February 6 episode, Hoda explained that she came back to help support her friend Savannah Guthrie while she is in Arizona searching for her 84 year old mother.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing for six days now, and the police have not ruled out foul play.  Nancy’s disappearance was considered a possible kidnapping at one point, but no one came forward requesting ransom money for the TV celeb’s mom yet so that theory is highly unlikely.

The Search For Nancy Guthrie

Fan fave Hoda Kotb explained on Friday’s Today Show, “I think there’s this helpless feeling. I mean, we’re all so close to her and we all want to help her.  I’m looking at us and I’m thinking, who was first in the hospital room when Hope [Hoda’s daughter] was sick? Savannah.”

When speaking on Savannah’s mom Nancy Guthrie Kotb added, “I was thinking this morning, you know when they say, ‘Love is patient. Love is kind.’ We’ll be patient and put prayers up.”

As of today, there have been no breaks in the Nancy Guthrie case.  If the police in Arizona do have any information, they are not releasing it.  Have you been following Savannah’s mom’s disappearance?  Do you think she was a victim of a crime?
