The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Lily Part of the Ruse as Cane Faces Victor’s Deadly Threat

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) left town to get away from Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and to be closer to their children.

But as fans learn, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) included Lily in the ruse he’s attempting to pull off.

Walking into Newman Enterprises or Ashby-Summers Inc. as Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) would like to rename it, was tough. But Victor made himself do it so he could issue an ultimatum.

Cane will either sign the fabled conglomerate over to him or he’ll never see his family again. The implication is that Victor will hold them hostage indefinitely or have them killed.

Why Not Go To The Authorities In Genoa City, Wisconsin?

The audience knows that there is no resident detective in Genoa City, Wisconsin, right now, or at least no known member of the GC Police Department in that role.

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) was shot dead at Cane’s disastrous party that he held in the south of France last summer. Two others died as well.

Other than nameless police officers, there is no one who replaced Chance on the force. Although Detective Burrow (no first name for the character Matt Cohen portrays) appears to be targeted for that job.

So, Cane might use Detective Burrow. Yet, this would seem to be a federal offense that Victor is committing, and the formerly named Aristotle Dumas is prone to pursue top-shelf outcomes. Maybe the Moustache is contacted by the Feds?

Adam Newman Put In A Bad Spot

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has been on his dad’s good side for many months. Even Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) recognized the growth her husband’s son appeared to have realized.

But Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) spilled the soapy beans. She felt compelled to tell Victor what she knew and that she shared that intel with Nikki.

Chelsea’s intentions were good, but she had to know that Victor would scorn Adam for divulging information that he strictly wanted kept between them. Grossman’s character is sure to face punishment and potential alienation shortly.

Lily Winters Wants Cane To Revert

Lily’s fondest wish is for Cane to revert to being who he was before the second divorce. There were many years, during the Daniel Goddard (Cane) era, when this character was loyal to Lily and their family was solid.

But that came to an end in 2019, with cracks in their second nuptial opening before then. Eventually, Cane left town in search of his father. Viewers learned that he found Colin Atkinson (played by the late, great Tristan Rogers), and together they built Arabesque.

The best chance for Cane to reunite with Lily will come when he’s free of Newman Enterprises. That will happen when Victor forces it out of his hands, or he voluntarily gives it back.

For now, Cane’s hyper focus is on his family, whom he believes are in danger, with Lily and the viewers knowing they’re not.
