Prince Harry has missed many a-Christmas dinners with his family, but this year, with the royal rift seemingly ready to be detangled, any Royal fan would be forgiven for presuming that he, Meghan and the kids might be dropping in this Christmas. Sadly, this was not the case. But we hear say it was a mutual decision.
What Prince Harry’s Absence This Christmas Means For His 2027 Invictus Games In Birmingham
In 2027, Prince Harry will be returning to the UK for another installment of his Invictus Games. And he’s reportedly eager to have some members of his family support him during the event that he’s reportedly already dished out invites.
In addition to this, the ‘Spare’ author made meaningful moves towards ending the long-standing rift with his family this year, even hopping on a BBC interview to say that he’s open to reconciling with his estranged family members.
In September, he met up with his father and chatted over tea, leading to speculations that things have considerably thawed between the monarch and his son.
However, according to royal correspondent Richard Fitzwilliams, even if things get a lot better down the line, it doesn’t mean Harry will become a natural inclusion in the Royal Family’s festive moments.
“What happens after the 2027 Birmingham Invictus Games, of course, is yet to be seen, but I can’t see them wanting to spend Christmas with the Royal Family or vice versa,” Fitzwilliams exclusively told GB News.
“In any event, I mean, whether there’ll be some form of reconciliation, that’s another matter,” he said, noting that the issue of the security is another barrier restricting a full-on Prince Harry reintegration into the Royal Family’s personal moments.
Due to how things are progressing this round, Fitzwilliams believes that it’s possible the current review of his security status would yield positive results.
“After all, the fact that Harry’s security is being reviewed and he will almost certainly get what he wants. This is certainly positive, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they want to spend Christmas together,” he opined, adding, “I think that probably is mutual.”
