The Little House On The Prairie tea is piping hot this week! It turns out the Ingalls Sisters close bond was just an act on the iconic 70’s TV show. In fact, Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Sue Anderson were feuding for decades!
If you followed the Little House On The Prairie actresses over the decades then you are well aware of their feelings toward each other. Back in 2014 Melissa Gilbert confirmed the feud was still going strong an said her on-screen sister “hated” her an notoriously bullied her on set of the family TV show.
Gilbert Talks Bullying On Little House On The Prairie Set
In an old Watch What Happens Live appearance with Andy Cohen, Melissa Gilbert explained “She was hateful, horrid, mean, terrible, mean, difficult — she hated me. She knocked me off the wagon when I was nine.” That sounds like prairie assault!
In Gilbert’s defense, she wasn’t the only Little House On The Prairie star that had trouble with Melissa Sue Anderson.
Another one of her co-stars from her days as Mary Ingalls reported that the young actress was known to be a mean girl an compared her to a prom-queen.
The two actresses are now in their 60’s and have finally decided to bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones.
This week Melissa Gilbert took to social media and shared a lengthy post revealing that she and Melissa Sue Anderson had finally called a truce and spent some time together.
The Little House On The Prairie Reunion We’ve Been Waiting For
Gilbert wrote on Instagram, “Reconnection with a sister. Long, healing talks. Lots of reminiscing. Lots of catching up. Lots of laughter and a few tears. I’m so happy to have Melissa Anderson back in my life. We share such an important history that no one else on earth truly understands. Just us Ingalls girls.”
