This month, the news arrived that DNA evidence tied Theodore Bundy, AKA Ted Bundy, to a 50-year-old cold case. And the scary part, is that the death of 17-year-old Laura Ann Aime in Utah probably isn’t the last of his victims that will come to light. Read on for more details.
A Long List Of Murders
Many true crime followers thought they knew how many people died at the hands of Ted Bundy. Well, his 1989 execution by electric chair didn’t end the counts against the serial killer. The April 2026 findings only make folks wonder how many more young lives were lost to the monstrous man.
When News Nation covered the latest update, police officials said that scientists used modern testing to close the case of Laura Ann Aime.

DNA doesn’t lie, and modern forensics confirmed that even though Ted is dead, he can still make the headlines for shocking deaths that still haunt families across the USA.
A Cold Man Who Lured Victims
Through his trial, and even after his execution, many people studied the “sadistic sociopath” who took pleasure from the pain of others. Playing on sympathy, sometimes he wore fake casts or bandages to entice young women to approach him.
Notably, he didn’t stop with that, and some cases revealed he acted as a police officer. After gaining their trust, he brutally disposed of them. While it’s not proven, there are suggestions that perhaps he started killing way back in 1961.
Early Signs Of A Murderer
Per Biography.com, Bundy was raised by his grandparents. That’s because his mom was unmarried, and back in the day, that was a massive scandal. Later, he ended up adopted by Johnny Bundy. However, he apparently showed signs of murderous intent at the tender age of three.
What seemed extremely interesting, is that people liked him a lot! Charming, women loved him, and good looking, people instinctively felt drawn to Ted. And all the time, he was busy selecting and killing victims. While he confessed to 30 murders, the real numbers could be as high as 100.
Actually, he nearly didn’t make it to the electric chair as he escaped from prison twice. And, it was thanks to law enforcement in Florida that he ended up removed from planet Earth.
Laura Ann Aime Was An Early Victim
During his serial killings, Ted Bundy was very active between 1974 and 1978. As Laura Ann Aime died in October 1974, she must have been one of his first Utah victims. Previously, his first known victim was Lynda Ann Healy who died in Washington in February of that year.
Tragically, Bundy’s girlfriend tried warning the cops that she suspected him. However, her reports were ignored. And thanks to that, he spent more years taking innocent lives. However, Florida officers caught him and eventually, he was executed. 42 when he died, he’d spent a decade on death row.
Viewers React
The latest update got a lot of reactions on YouTube, and one true crime follower commented, “37 years later after Bundy was removed from this world, His victims are still being discovered. What a monster that man was.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- Bundy’s DNA still haunts the earth….an inhuman predator.
- Ted Bundy’s girlfriend tipped off the police multiple times, suspecting he was the serial killer they were looking for, but they completely ignored her. Calling it a scandal doesn’t even scratch the surface.
- Despite his fear of death, Ted exhibited no remorse for his victims, embodying the essence of the devil in disguise.
- Unfortunately I don’t think this will be the last cold case solved that will find Bundy as the murderer.
