Spencer Tepe & Monique Murder Case: Suspect Arrested

The Columbus, Ohio murder of dentist Spencer Tepe and his wife Monique got an update on Saturday, and someone has been arrested for allegedly committing the tragic true crime. Read on for more details.

The Suspect Was Known To The Family

The Law&Crime network already covered the case when the first reports arrived that police sought information regarding the double murder. If you don’t know, at the end of the year, 9-1-1 calls arrived notifying that a body was seen through a window of the home.

Later, footage from a surveillance camera arrived. Once again, police asked for help in identifying a potential suspect. At the time, folks in the comments felt that it might be a former partner. Meanwhile, other outlets speculated that the perpetrator must have known the family.

That came because there was no gun in the home, no signs of a break-in, and no kids or the family dog were hurt. Now, a suspect has been identified and arrested. Apparently a vehicle in the area was traced to the ex-husband of Monique: Dr. Michael McKee.

What Is Known About McKee

According to Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy, Michael McKee “is in jail, in custody in a jail in Rockford, Illinois.” Apparently, the car was seen near the home before, during, and after the murders of Spencer and Monique Tepe. Tracing it to Illinois made the driver’s identification easy.

Naturally, Levy noted that his arrest as a potential suspect in the true crime means that he faces extradition to Ohio to “face the murder charges” Other information that she mentioned about Monique’s ex includes the fact that he’s “a vascular surgeon.”

Apparently, they were married back “in 2015.” Additionally, they “divorced using a private judge.” Levy added, “but it’s my understanding that Michael McKee didn’t want to let go despite the marriage lasting just a short time.”

In the comments section, many people felt shocked that the alleged double murder happened at the hands of a person who took an oath not to harm people.

One of them wrote, “What an evil sociopath. As a doctor he took an oath to do no harm then murdered two people, leaving their children orphans. Sicko.”

Here are a few more reactions from the discussion that followed:

  • This guy was a surgeon? Responsible for saving lives… but ended up taking two. Absolutely terrifying.
  • He left the two very small children alone with the dead bodies of their parents.
  • The ex. Monique definitely upgraded when she left that one in her past. It’s a damn shame he didn’t stay there.

Of course, until a court finds McKee guilty of the murder, he’s presumed innocent. So, check back with us often for more updates on this particular true crime story.
