Sister Wives Meri Brown’s Massive Divorce Ring Sparks Brutal Kody Brown Joke

For years, fans of Sister Wives have watched Meri Brown suffer under the critical gaze of Kody Brown. Kody even suggested that he would divorce Meri if his religious convictions were different. Those convictions meant that one of his wives would have to initiate the separation, not him.

Now that she’s free, Kody apparently had to have the last laugh by giving her an enormous gift to mark their divorce.

Key Takeaways

  • Meri Brown reveals Kody gave her a divorce ring
  • The divorce ring is noticeably larger than her wedding ring
  • Meri jokes about which occasion made Kody happier
  • The jewelry appraiser joins in on the joke about their marriage
  • The oversized ring has a surprisingly modest estimated value

Meri Brown Jokes “Divorce Ring” Is Bigger Than Wedding Ring

During their long-running TLC show, fans followed Kody Brown as he juggled four wives, including three spiritual wives. Kody is now legally married only to Robyn Brown.

During those long years, fans watched Kody turn on Meri over and over again, to the point where it seemed he was doing everything he could to push her out of the marriage.

“Meri and I are in a marriage, but we don’t want to be part of a hookup culture. Romance and sex are saved for people who are in love,” Kody confessed to TLC cameras in 2021.

Meri eventually took the hint and ended their spiritual marriage, but fans know it didn’t happen nearly soon enough.

As Meri and Kody’s troubled marriage continued to make headlines, viewers learned just how painful their relationship had become.

Even after Meri decided to go her separate way, Kody apparently wanted to mark the occasion with a big old divorce ring!

Kody Brown’s Divorce Gift Raises Eyebrows

While having her jewelry appraised in a preview of the November 1 episode of Sister Wives, Meri showed off both her wedding ring and her divorce ring.

The wedding ring featured a small stone set on a simple gold double band.

The divorce ring, on the other hand, featured a much bigger yellow-orange stone.

“Wedding ring? Divorce ring? Which one is he most excited about?” Meri quipped.

Even the appraiser seemed to understand the joke, suggesting that Kody must have been happier about the divorce than the marriage!

However, the larger ring wasn’t necessarily more valuable. The appraiser estimated that the divorce ring was worth only around $200 to $300.

And considering how long Meri and Kody were together, that estimate certainly didn’t make his parting gift seem particularly impressive.

Meanwhile, Meri has continued speaking out about her past with Kody and Robyn, including the financial disputes that followed their separation.

With Meri, Christine, and Janelle now moving forward with their lives, it’s clear that the Brown family’s complicated history continues to provide plenty of surprises.

Editor’s Take

I have to laugh at Meri’s reaction to that ring! After everything she went through with Kody, the fact that her divorce ring was bigger than her wedding ring says plenty, even if the actual value wasn’t very impressive.

I’m just glad Meri can joke about it now. She spent far too many years waiting for Kody to give her the marriage she wanted, and I think she’s much better off putting that chapter behind her!

Do you think Kody was trying to make a statement with Meri’s divorce ring, or was it simply an awkward parting gift? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
