Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and their two lovely children, may be hunkering down at a $14 million dollar mansion in the secluded neighborhood that is Montecito, but their situation reportedly isn’t all that dandy.
With Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand struggling to sell out its inventory, and Prince Harry’s payment to speak at events dropping by the day, the couple are reportedly starting to wonder where it all went wrong.
Per an insider, it’s gotten to a point Harry no longer wants to put on a brave face about it anymore.
Prince Harry Has Reportedly Opened Up About His Financial Issues With King Charles
They say nobody needs money like the rich, and for Harry and Meghan, this couldn’t ring more true. With so many things to spend money on, and so few things to keep it cycling back, Harry and Meghan have officially reached their financial crossroads.
Per a source speaking to OK! Magazine, “Harry has become increasingly candid in the few conversations he is having on the phone with Charles and is no longer trying to put a brave face on the challenges he and Meghan are dealing with behind the scenes. He has been honest about the financial strain that comes with maintaining their charitable projects, funding a large security operation, supporting their business ventures and sustaining the lifestyle they have built in California.”
The source adds, “The reality is that the costs are enormous and there is a growing feeling on Harry’s side that the pressure has become relentless. He doesn’t believe he can continue carrying that burden alone forever and wants his father to understand just how difficult things have become.”
Harry reportedly only doesn’t want funds from his father. If it’s possible, he also wants a solid public backing that would serve to disperse some of the reputational damage his various antics has dealt his brand.
This is especially essential, since Harry and Meghan’s annual expenses is said to be upwards of $6 million, with much tied to security, staffing and housing.
On the heels of this news is another that reports that the Duchess is now in crisis mode over unsold jams.
“Meghan’s jams, teas and tins of flower sprinkles are set to go pretty much simultaneously out of date at the end of next summer,” Alison Boshoff writes for Daily Mail.
Bosoff also speculates that there’s very little chance these jams will sell out in time, leading to As Ever facing a $5 million loss on Jams alone.
