Prior to Harry’s security bid being denied earlier this week, the Sussexes’ spokesperson had confirmed to media outlets that the couple plan on bringing their children over to the UK.
Apart from a reunion with their grandpa King Charles, Harry was also said to hope that the arrival of the children might soften his brother’s heart towards them, and lead to a speedy reconciliation.
The foundation for this was laid as far back as January. Sadly, before any of these lovely events could take place, it was nipped in the bud. Harry and family would not be receiving any special kind of security if they land in the UK in July.
Prince Harry Doesn’t Want Paparazzi To Chase His Family During UK Return
One of the reasons Harry has insisted on beefed up security – that is, apart from his family’s safety – is to also keep the press at bay. He apparently foresees paparazzi chasing them “wherever they go from the moment they step off the plane.”
“Their plans to see family, friends, and visit various charitable causes close to the duke’s heart have been pulled out from under their feet at the 11th hour,” an insider told The Guardian.
However, Harry is yet to hang up his thinking gloves, and is at the moment still considering other methods to employ to safely get his children to visit his home country this summer.
“He’s looking at every option to try and get the family here safely and keep them safe when they’re on the ground,” the insider further shared. “If he can find a way to do that, he will.”
But the hurdle of not receiving “proper security arrangements” might be too great to scale around. After all, Harry had once declared that Meghan and the kids have no business traveling to the UK if they weren’t going to be getting 24/7 police protection.
The thing is, if there’s a slim chance Harry could still pull off this visit as planned, then it will be the first time the King has reunited with his American-based grandkids since 2022.
