Prince Harry and Meghan Skipping Major Hollywood Event – Here’s Why

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have spent years trying to cultivate a Hollywood power couple image, but this image is starting to slip into the background with the couple’s repeated scandals.

The Royal Family beef apparently isn’t the only thing holding them back these days, as their brief spat with the Kardashians helped to paint them as the troublesome duo.

However, a fashion source had previously predicted that Meghan Markle, in particular, could be invited to the 2026 Met Gala, due to her somewhat close relationship with some of the co-chairs.

Meghan Markle Misses Out On Met Gala Invite For This Reason: “Over Her”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer Hollywood’s shiny toys anymore. Their time in the spotlight is long gone, that is, if the lack of a Met Gala invite is anything to go by.

“People are just kind of over her,” a Newsnation source revealed. “She sucks the air out of every room and makes it about herself. Anna [Wintour] does not want that.”

Meghan hasn’t had the most smooth-sailing relationship with former Vogue editor Anna Wintour, with their frictional relationship going back to 2022, following a Vogue cover disagreement.

At the time, the 44-year-old Duchess was said to have made “impossible demands,” leading to a fallout with British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.

Perhaps because of their poor relationship with Wintour, they were not able to make the cut, despite having a bevy of familiar faces heading the event.

For example, Jeff Bezos is the chief sponsor for this year’s Met Gala, and Harry and Meghan stepped on his property for Kris Jenner’s splashy 70th birthday party.

In addition to this, Beyoncé, who Harry and Meghan claimed texted them in their Netflix docuseries, and Venus Williams, sister to Meghan’s pal Serena Williams, are co-chairs.

Instead of the controversial royals, the Met Gala opted to have a list of notable figures grace the high profile event. In fact, you could say the Met Gala is the highlight celebrity event of the year.

Among those who received their golden tickets are Kris Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Cardi B, Doechii, Anne Hathaway, SZA, Megan Thee Stallion, Sydney Sweeney, Rosalía, Kelly Rowland, Cara Delevingne and Addison Rae.
