New evidence and clues have surfaced in the murder of an Ohio dentist and his wife. A call to 911 was discovered, reporting a domestic dispute months before he and his wife were shot dead.
Police Don’t Believe The Deaths Were A Murder-Suicide
Spencer and Monique Tepe were found dead on December 30, while their two young children were discovered unharmed inside the home.
Months earlier, a woman had called 911 from the same address to report what the dispatcher referred to as a “domestic dispute.” After initially hanging up, the caller informed the 911 operator, “me and my man got into it,” based on newly released records.
Police arrived at the Columbus, Ohio residence around 10 a.m. on December 30 and discovered Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39, both deceased with apparent gunshot wounds, according to officials.
Authorities do not suspect a murder-suicide, noting there were no signs of forced entry and no weapon was recovered, as reported by WSYX.
Fox News Received A 911 Call From An Unidentified Woman At The Same Location
Fox News Digital received a 911 call from an unidentified woman at the same location where Spencer and Monique were murdered. She told the operator, “me and my man got into it.”-the call was made on April 15 at 2:45 a.m., according to records.
The woman was heard crying during the call and later informed the police that she no longer required officers to respond. Columbus officials did not provide the caller’s name in the dispatch logs.
A dispatcher at the Columbus Emergency Communications Center classified the call as a “domestic dispute,” later noting that help was “no longer needed.”
The Columbus Division Of Police Also Released Surveillance Footage Of A Person Of Interest
On Monday evening, the Columbus Division of Police released surveillance footage of a “person of interest.” The man was walking in the alley close to the Tepes’ home during the early hours of Dec. 30. Detectives suspect the murders occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on that date.
The video, shared by the Columbus Division of Police, shows a man walking slowly in an alley near the Weinland Park residence where Spencer and Monique lived. He appears to be wearing a dark coat and light-colored pants.
Spencer’s Boss Made The First Call To Report Something Seemed Wrong
The initial 911 call made on December 30 was from Spencer’s boss, Mark Valrose, who runs Athens Dental Depot.
Valrose mentioned he was on vacation in Florida at that time, but several of Spencer’s colleagues grew concerned when he failed to arrive at work, noting that this behavior is very unusual for him.
“Spencer works with me and he did not show up to work this morning and we cannot get ahold of him or his family,” Valrose stated. “He is always punctual and would reach out if there were any problems… we are extremely worried because this is very out of character. And we can’t contact his wife, which is likely the more alarming issue.
One Of Spencer’s Friends Went To The Home For A Wellness Check
At 10:03 a.m., one of Spencer’s friends visited the Tepes’ residence and informed a 911 operator that he could see a body inside; “There’s a body,” the individual can be heard saying.
“Our friend wasn’t responding to his phone-we just did a wellness check; we just came here and he seems dead-he’s lying next to his bed, off of his bed in this blood.
In a statement released on Friday, the family of the couple expressed that they are “heartbroken beyond words,” describing the deaths as “tragic and senseless.”
“They were remarkable individuals whose lives were filled with love, joy, and a strong connection to others,” the statement read.
“Spencer was recognized as a devoted and proud father, a loving partner, and a friend to everyone he encountered,” the family statement continued, noting that he was “intelligent, warm, and endlessly welcoming.”
