NCIS Origins fans have been counting down the days until the Season 3 release date on CBS, and now it is right around the corner!
The NCIS spinoff will return in October 2026, but that’s not all. Fan fave Mark Harmon will be back in action and appear in the entire season.
Mark Harmon’s NCIS Return
NCIS fans were devasted when Mark Harmon left the popular primetime season after over a decade, and we said goodbye to Jethro Gibbs.
Then the franchise unveiled their spinoff NCIS Origins. The series followed Gibbs’ life before he joined the military and is narrated by Mark Harmon himself.
During NCIS Origins Seasons 1 and 2, Mark Harmon appeared a handful of times. But, the actor has stayed in the background as the narrator. That is what makes Season 3 of Origins such a huge deal, Harmon will appear the entire season!
According to a report from TV Insider, “Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was a man of few words on the mothership for 19 seasons. But with NCIS: Origins, we’re getting to see parts of his life we either barely heard about or never knew existed. And the good news is we’ll get to learn a lot more, with the series returning for Season 3 in October 2026 — and with Harmon appearing in every episode!”
NCIS Origins Season 3 Return Date
The Season 3 premiere of the NCIS spinoff is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday October 6, 2026. CBS has big plans for Tuesdays this Fall and NCIS fans won’t want to miss a moment of television that night.
NCIS (the original) will air on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM. Then NCIS New York will air in the following timeslot at 9:00 PM. NCIS Origins will round out the action packed night of TV at 10:00 PM.
