Nancy Guthrie, according to the latest updates, hasn’t yet been located, and a disturbing element in the latest updates suggests that the ransom note might originate outside of the USA. Additionally, a second deadline passed with no new updates.
Nancy’s Property Belatedly Closed To The Media
Authorities returned to the home of Nancy and of her daughter Annie Guthrie where she lives with her husband Tommaso Cioni. A car towed from there by the FBI might actually have belonged to Nancy and not to Annie.
Meanwhile independent speculation suggest that possibly, she took an Uber from their home on the Saturday night prior to her disappearance early Sunday morning.
After surprisingly leaving the property where Nancy lived near Tucson open for the media to walk around, Brian Entin reported that the media were moved off and no longer allowed access.
He also reported flashing lights at Annie Guthrie’s home, suggesting someone in law enforcement photographed the interior nearly a week after Nancy Guthrie disappeared.

Probing A Septic Tank
Other updates reported that officials probed a reservoir and a septic tank on the property. But so far, there appears to be very little happening in the hunt for the mom of Today anchor, Savannah Guthrie.

A second appeal by the family for the return of their mom was interpreted by a former NYPD officer to suggest that they simply ask for the remains of their mom to be returned, rather than an alive person. And, the conclusion could be that family know Nancy passed away.
Whether the authorities in Pima County know more than they are saying or not, isn’t clear. Certainly, information is drying up, and no new press conferences arrived. Notably, according to the New York Post, there won’t be any communication unless something important breaks in the case.
Ransom Notes Originate Outside The USA?
In the meantime, more disturbing analysis suggests that the ransom notes are possibly originating from outside the USA. Citing former FBI agent Michael Harrigan, the outlet wrote about the latest ransom demand:
Their multi-million dollar demands be paid out in US dollars…Why would you use that if you’re a domestic person? That points to somebody who might be potentially outside the country, which also lends the potential for this being a scam.
Additionally, he also speculated: “If you’re domestic, why would you ever put ‘USD?’ You put six million.”
Pima County Sheriff Gets Roasted
Meanwhile, on X, a post by the Pima County Sheriff received a very poor response from members of the public. It said:
The Nancy Guthrie investigation is ongoing. Follow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified. No scheduled press briefings. If any significant developments occur in the case, a press conference will be called.
While hearts break for Savannah Guthrie and her family, patience with the law enforcement wears thin, judging by the responses.

One of them read, “The only reason you are putting out a statement and acting as if you are doing something is because you got caught on national tv enjoying a basketball game while the family put out another video. Why on earth even put out a statement then at all ??”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- Why did it take you 7 full days to inspect a manhole in her back yard? This stinks of incompetence.
- Yall are a bunch of Barney Fifes investigating this. Failures, contamination issues from releasing home back to family so quickly, hitting up Basketball Games, total failures. Yall need real help
- Lot of words for “we know absolutely nothing.”
