The search for Nancy Guthrie continued on Friday night, and new details arrived from Arizona about the action underway. It involved some updates and also the fact that the Pima County Sheriff’s Office deployed SWAT again. Read on for more details.
Mobile Command Deployed
Just hours ahead of the two-week time and date of the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mom from her Tucson home, a mobile command deployed.
But, at the time of writing this, it’s not clear where they went. Fortunately, there are some ethical journalists and Brian Entin didn’t want to compromise the investigation by discussing their destination.

Late Friday, he spoke with Elizabeth Vargas on News Nation. But first, she gave some recent updates.
Other Updates
Vargas started by saying, “We’re following this breaking news that’s happening right now in Arizona.” Additionally, she talked about the fact that investigators found DNA inside Nancy’s home. Apparently, it didn’t match family members or close associates.
Plus, she briefly mentioned yet another emailed note to TMZ. However, many people either think those are scams or just plain weird. Many people wonder why on earth the kidnappers would talk with an outlet instead of directly to the FBI negotiators. So, we won’t dwell on that.
What Was Going On With SWAT?
When, Brian arrived on the show, he gave the main news details about the immediate SWAT deployment. He said, “We’re trying to figure out exactly what’s going on, Elizabeth.” Then, he noted that the deputies were “staging right now.”
Refusing to drop information on where they were going, Entin also reminded true crime followers that SWAT last deployed to Rio Rico. In that instance, you might recall they arrested a man named Carlos, who turned out to not be involved in the Nancy Guthrie case.
Obviously, the new movement with SWAT and the mobile command probably means they reacted to a new tip-off, or incoming forensic data results.
Update On The Pima County Sheriff
Other news that seems important related to the video footage recovered from a Nest camera at Nancy Guthrie’s home. From those images, they were able to estimate the height of the intruder. Police described him as average build, about 5 foot 9 to 5 foot 10. Additionally, he wore a 25-liter Ozark hiking trail backpack.
Meanwhile, Vargas said that Sheriff Chris Nanos pushed back hard on claims that he withheld key DNA evidence from the FBI. Apparently, he also said that detectives collected gloves. Earlier news suggested gloves were found on the road and in the home of Nancy Guthrie.
