Nancy Guthrie Intuition Paradox: Parallel Paths In The Search?

FBI tech vs. spiritual circles: Inside the parallel investigations and the $10M legal risk of 'online intuition.'

Nancy Guthrie Case - intuition, speculation, investigation - YT edited

It’s now been 38 days since 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Catalina Foothills home. While most people follow the investigation by the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD), a parallel one seems to be running in the background. And, that’s more spiritual. Read on for more about it.

Tech, Psychics & Intuition

As you probably know by now, the official investigation involves tech like DNA, camera surveillance, and until it scaled back, big-bust SWAT teams. So far, nothing conclusive led to any formal suspect.

However, a parallel side involves a sort of “Digital Psychic Circle.” A what? Well, it’s a decentralized group of online intuitives who claim they see things that the cameras might have missed.

Professional vs. Speculation

Notably, the ‘Circle’ isn’t one single group. Locally, professional folk like Sunny Dawn Johnston took a protocol-driven approach. If you don’t know, Sunny volunteers as a psychic investigator for the international nonprofit FIND ME.

Recently, she clarified that she typically waits for an official invitation from law enforcement or family.

However, her team started working “behind the scenes” due to the sheer volume of public requests.

Now that’s an ethical approach. But, there are others who throw out ideas about Nancy Guthrie suspects that could potentially land them in hot water. Or, damage other innocent people.

A Caution On Public Speculation

Contrasting with the approach by Sunny, an even more recent report by well-respected investigative journalist, Brian Entin arrived. In it, he revealed a more aggressive digital wave of spiritual things arriving on social media.

Unfortunately, that sort of activity ends up with some folks not just using their energy, but also naming names. Notably, that could come with huge financial and legal risks.

In fact, the ‘Digital Psychic Circle’ faced a reality beyond either disapproval, or followers who hand out thumbs-ups. Entin mentioned that “Tiktok influencer Ashley Guillard was ordered to pay $10,000,000 in damages” in a judgment recently handed down.

Apparently they’d falsely accused an innocent professor in the Idaho Murders case. In that case, the creator claimed her “intuition” overrode forensic facts. Nonetheless, it wasn’t a defense that a federal jury bought into.

Targeting Individuals

Naturally, the TikTok influencer case sets a precedent for the Nancy Guthrie case. In fact, a trial by intuition starts unfolding, and online armchair sleuths targeted folks like Dominic Evans, a bandmate of Nancy’s son-in-law.

Evans told the New York Times that his name ended up hijacked for “monetary clickbait.” Despite zero connection to the disappearance, Evans feared internet-driven “swatting” attempts. So much so, that he stayed elsewhere for at least one night in mid February.

Trial by Vibe – The Son-in-Law

Most persistent spiritual and public theories claim that Nancy’s son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, knows something about the abduction of his wife, Annie Guthrie’s mom.

As he was among the last to see her alive, online theorists scrutinized everything from his body language to the possibility that he hid behind the doorbell mask camera footage of the intruder.

Notably, that theory seemed kickstarted up by Ashleigh Banfield, who rather vocally claimed a source confirmed that Tommaso was definitely a suspect. Well, Sheriff Nanos wasn’t about to let those claims float around indefinitely.

In fact, more than once, he said that the whole Guthrie family, including Cioni, were already formally cleared. As far as the law’s concerned, accusations without proof seem “cruel” and baseless.

Mysterious Blackout

So far, it seems that if there’s a link between “intuition” and hard evidence, it lies in the reported tech glitches. In fact, some psychics talked about something dark that seemed to block the energy on Nancy’s property.

Well, once again, Entin reported back. He mentioned that neighbors thought an internet outage seemed dodgy as it happened around the time Nancy disappeared.

Apparently, neighbors reported an “uncanny” outage where the security camera closest to Nancy’s house went “not available” during the hours of the kidnapping.

In fact, Entin talked for some time about whether something sticking out of an intruder’s pocket could be some sort of jammer. Later, he spoke with several folks about it. And then, he even went on to suggest that the FBI actively questions neighbors about the outage.

If the psychics of various descriptions get that dark locked out feeling, maybe it could relate to that.

The Yellow Ribbons & Flowers

While the digital and spiritual sleuths speculate, the streets in Tucson near Nancy Guthrie’s home fill up with yellow roses, sunflowers, and ribbons. That’s a “Circle of Hope” and maybe you saw something about that at the Today show studios in New York.

Furthermore, it’s commonly known now, that Savannah Guthrie and her family visited the Tucson memorial and left a note among the flowers:

Momma… we are standing on ash, on scorched earth! But mom… our love burns bright.

Miracles And Hoaxes

While the family remains hopeful for a “miracle,” they already ended up targeted by true crime opportunists. In February, a California resident was arrested for sending a hoax Bitcoin ransom demand.

And sadly, if anything, that points to the fact that intuition might be interesting, but exploitation also exists. Of course, the up to $1 million reward offered by the Guthrie family might still bring some solid leads.

While there’s nothing wrong with psychic circles, prayer circles, hope circles, and law enforcement circles, keeping things ethical, above all, seems the way to go.
