The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mom of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie, grows more concerning and the FBI offered a $50,000 reward for information. While Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos can’t say that the 84-year-old is alive, he still hopes that she’s “still out there” somewhere in Tucson.
Blood Found Is Alarming
Blood found in her home in Tucson seems conflicting, with some outlets suggesting it hasn’t yet been confirmed as Nancy’s. But, Ashleigh Banfield said it was identifed as hers. Nevertheless, the case upgraded from a missing person report to some sort of true crime. Possibly, kidnapping. But if that’s the case, then why isn’t there any response following alleged ransom notes?

According to a recent report by CBS News, confirmation arrives that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI work together. Of course, the FBI has a good rep for dealing with hostage negotiations. Plus, their “intelligence analysts” might help solve the mysterious disappearance.
No Suspects Confirmed
You might have heard unconfirmed reports about Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni. Well, for now, the facts include how he and his wife drove the elderly woman home on Saturday night.
As the last to see her alive, obviously, it would seem strange if he wasn’t questioned. However, it was confirmed that a press conference revealed there is no “person of interest…identified in the case.” However, other news oulets suggest their car was towed away.
Other Facts Confirmed
Other facts confirmed by the outlet noted that Nancy Guthrie’s “pacemaker” stopped transmitting to her devices soon after “security cameras” failed in the early hours of Sunday morning.
As for the ransom notes, it’s not clear what’s happening with them. Despite the fact that Savannah Guthrie and her family made an appeal for suspected kidnappers to get ahold of them, nothing seems to have happened.
Nobody Saw Anything?
The scary part is that nobody in the area saw anything suspicious. However, that’s not stopping folks from upgrading their own security. The seriousness of the case even got a response from President Donald Trump.
The outlet cited him saying, “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely…The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family.”
Thne FBI & The Need For Information
The FBI joining the investigation into what is thought to be a true crime, underscores the urgency of the case. The FBI set up a 24/7 command post in Tucson. For now, it seems that the best way to find a kidnapper is to identify motives. And that could include a lot of things.
Hopefully, the reward might help information come in. However, it’s been about five days now, and Nancy Guthrie isn’t well. In fact, without her medication, she could actually pass away, if she’s still alive. If you have any information, even if you think it’s insignificant, you are urged to please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
As time passes, this case seems to be heading into a terrifying situation for Savannah Guthrie, her family, and, if she’s still alive, Nancy Guthrie.
