Michael McKee, the vascular surgeon accused of the double murder of his ex, Monique, and her husband, Spencer Tepe, awaited extradition from Illinois to Ohio. Now he’s been moved, what’s likely going on in his life right now? Read on to find out.

Mulitple Charges & Extradition Conditions

The murders on New Year’s Eve shocked lots of people, and the fact that her ex was only married to her a decade ago for a few months had people wonder what triggered the killings.

Of course, he’s innocent until found guilty. But, it’s an interesting case as he faces four counts of murder for two people killed. Plus, he also allegedly accessed their home illegally. But, you might wonder what happens when an educated man enters the system.

A Whole New World

On the Drop Dead Serious podcast on YouTube on Wednesday, Ashleigh Banfield invited a guest to chat about the brand new experience for the accused true crime killer. He’s Larry Levine, a “former inmate” and founder of Wall Street Prison Consultants.

Notably, it seems that Michael McKee seems fortunate because he’s being kept in “Franklin County” at a modern facility called the James A. Karnes Correction Center.

While it might be new, and cleaner, and possibly more efficient, Larry explained that doesn’t take away the “pressure cooker” environment. But obviously, there are some advantages as “everything’s brand new.” So, there will be nice medical units and clean bunks.

Gaining Clout

Not being able to do as he pleases might make McKee feel hard hit. Obviously, going from a respected profession to a place where guards “slide your meals” through a flap in a steel door brings loads of “culture shock.”

The doctor might need to find ways to get some “clout” behind bars. The discussion covered how he might make that happen. For instance, he’s a doctor, so the other inmates might value his input on their health concerns. Still, jails all over tend to have inmates just waiting for a chance to tell authorities anything he might say about his crime.

Being Aware Of Snitches Is Important

Sometimes, prosecutors hear things from snitches that help their case if a prisoner starts “running his mouth like a toilet.” Often, that happens when they get comfortable in their cell. But the bottom line is that he’s not a celebrity, or anyone special amongst those behind bars.

As Michael McKee’s not a stupid man, he might think he can manipulate things, but that’s simply not going to happen. For now, there’s likely a huge adjustment taking place. Actually, he probably feels a bit scared and uncertain.

Viewers React In The Comments

The true crime murders of Spencer and Monique Tepe hit hard because the children were in the home when their parents were so callously shot dead. Now they are orphans. So, a lot of people hope McKee is found guilty and has a terrible time behind bars.

One of them opined, “Two children orphaned, and for what?An egotistical monsters jealousy and rage!”

Here are a few more repsonses from the discussion:

  • His cell won’t be like his penthouse overlooking Lake Michigan.
  • He looks so different from his past pictures. He used to have light in his eyes and a nice smile. But now, his eyes are dead and his mouth is a pursed slit. His clenched jaw gives him the appearance of a “block-head.”
  • Even if Monique were to hide under the rock or not active in social media, this guy was gonna find her because he was angry and consumed with hatred that he needed to kill her and her husband.
  • He deserves to be scared and experience a tad of the terror he put Monique and Spencer through.
