Meghan Markle is making headlines for her Australian tour for all the wrong reasons. The latest controversy is that while she was stomping around Bondi Beach – the site of a grave massacre – and meeting the heroes who risked hide and tail to preserve human life, she was also merching her outfits for money.
No, you didn’t read this wrong: her sweet deep blue and white top, and white pants, are on sale. For every purchase, she lines her pocket with some affiliate cash.
Fans, of course, couldn’t be more disgusted with this move, and they made their opinions known on every social media platform they could get on.
Jewish Fan Questions the Sense In Meghan Markle’s Latest Merching Move
Reacting to Meghan Markle’s latest money-grab on Instagram, a Jewish fan wrote, “There is something deeply twisted in a person who can stand in the shadow of tragedy – and turn it into a storefront. After all, nothing says empathy like affiliate links.”
Another commenter observed, “Looks like what the Jewish wore at concentration camps.”
Someone else stated, “To say nothing of the fact that this shirt echoes the prison uniforms of concentration camp inmates of the Holocaust, and she wore it to the Bondi Beach event.”
Is Meghan Markle Tone-deaf For Merching Her Bondi Beach Outfit?
There’s been a lot of pushback on some of the Sussexes’ stunts on this four-day tour of theirs, but fans are convinced merching disaster outfits by far tops it all.
The question now is why she would consciously tread on something this sensitive and think it was a good, or right, money-making move.
“What really gets me is that she is so tone deaf that she doesn’t see there is anything wrong with it at all!” one fan wrote on X.
However, when all is said and done, the fact she did it remains irrefutable. Perhaps the best way to preserve the dignity of the Institution, whose titles she continues to use as she sees fit, is to permanently remove her and her husband’s titles.
In so doing, they will be completely severed from representing, or misrepresenting, the institution they opted to leave.
“Meghan has shown the world in the most reprehensible manner possible why it is imperative that the ban on royals indulging in commercial activities, except under the most restrictive of conditions, was imposed, and why it needs to remain in place,” famour royal commentator Lady C said, adding, “If she wants to sell the clothes she wears to the scene of a massacre, she should do it as Meghan Markle. Not as the Duchess of Sussex.”
