M*A*S*H* Star Returns To TV In New 9-1-1 Episode

Captain BJ Hunnicutt is back in action!  Primetime viewers were thrilled this week when they recognized a familiar face from the popular sitcom M*A*S*H*. 

Mike Farrell dusted off his old acting hops and the 86 year old actor returned to TV for the first time since 2019, in an all new episode of 9-1-1.  Keep reading for all the details!

M*A*S*H* was one of America’s longest running TV shows in the 70’s and 80’s, new episodes were released over the span of a decade. 

The iconic sitcom followed a troop of doctors and nurses that were stationed overseas during the Korean War.  Farrell’s character Hunnicutt was one half of one of TV’s most famous bromances and appeared along side Alan Alda.  

9-1-1 New Episode “Handle With Care” On FOX

Farrell appeared in an all new episode off 9-1-1 on FOX this week.  Appropriately titled “Handle With Care” aired on January 29, and Mike Farrell played the part of a senile old man named Bill who was reported missing. 

Apparently, Bill (Farrell’s character) ran away from home after his son took his car keys and wouldn’t let him go meet his internet girlfriend.

Bill’s son Andrew was convinced that his father was being catfished and a scammer had lured him away.  After a city-wide manhunt it was revealed that Bill was just fine and had drove the lawnmower to the airport to try and meet his girlfriend since his son confiscated his car keys. 

M*A*S*H* Star Gets Happy 9-1-1 Ending

According to People Magazine, “Andrew continued to insist that his father had been catfished until another officer showed up at the door with Bill’s girlfriend Sheryl in tow.

Bill quickly warned his son not to turn the in-home security cameras back on for the night unless he wanted to “be scarred for life.”

Unlike a lot of the other stories that air on 9-1-1, Farrell’s appearance was sweet and had a happy ending.  Did you catch the M*A*S*H* star’s appearance on primetime this week?
