Legal Drama Intensifies As ANL Slams Prince Harry Over Alleged ‘Biased Witness’

ANL is determined to dismantle Prince Harry’s hacking claims at the root. This time around, they’re insisting that Prince Harry’s witness is merely trying to discredit their private investigator over a grudge.

Every New Development In Prince Harry’s Case Against the Daily Mail Publishers

Threatening Gavin Burrows life aside, the court recently learned that a key witness in Harry’s privacy claim was only coming along for the ride to settle an old grudge.

Harry, 41, and six other claimants are locked in a court battle with Associated Newspapers Limited over claims several of their bombshell reports were gotten through illegal means, like hacking and the placement of listening devices. However, ANL continues to deny this.

The entire case was built against the ANL over Gavin Burrows’ testimony that he had engaged in phone hacking when he worked with the Daily Mail.

Unfortunately, the same Burrows, once the investigation had gotten underway, confessed that his confession of engaging in wrongful activities on behalf of the Mail was faked and that his signature was forged.

Testifying against Burrows, Jerry Yanover told the court that Burrows had boasted about working for “all the newspapers” – including the Mail.

However, this is where things get interesting. Yanover was jailed in 2007 for 27 months after he pled guilty to 16 charges related to computer hacking while running a detective agency during a long-term sick leave. The thing now is that he believes Burrows had been the one who tipped the police off.

“The truth is, you’ve harboured a grudge against Mr Burrows for many years, haven’t you?” Antony White KC asked Yanover in court on behalf of ANL. “You suspected Mr Burrows had informed on you. You suspected he had told the police about you and [the detective agency] AIS.”

“And driven by that long-nurtured grudge against him, you’re prepared to say things about Mr Burrows that aren’t true in order to get back at him, aren’t you?”

Yanover, previously known as Jeremy Young, agreed that he believed Burrows had escaped punishment in relation to their work at AIS by becoming an informant.

Having admitted this, Yanover went on to insist that he does not bear a grudge. “It’s an opportunity for me to tell the truth, get my side of the story out and get others held accountable,” he shared of his reasons for coming forward to support Harry’s case.

To this, White blasted Yanover as a “thoroughly dishonest man.” The court further heard that Yanover was approached by convicted phone-hacker Graham Johnson, who is working with the claimants.
