His wife, Kendra Caldwell Duggar, 27, was arrested on March 20 in Arkansas. Authorities charged her with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

Joseph faces the same charges in that jurisdiction, in addition to the more severe accusations tied to the Florida case.

A spokesperson for the family clarified that Kendra’s charges are “totally unrelated” to her husband’s alleged crimes in Florida and added:

“She’s not suspected or accused of participating in his alleged crime.”

The charges reportedly followed a home investigation where authorities discovered concerning conditions, including suspicious locks.

More details have emerged from a forensic interview conducted with the alleged victim, who was nine years old at the time and is now 14.
