A 30-year-old mom named Jenna Strouble from St. John, Indiana, faces a bunch of true crime charges for allegedly carrying out three killings in Illinois. Read on for details

A Deliberate Crime?

On Monday this week, officers attended a scene in East Norway Trail in Crete Township. According to Chris Stewart on the Law & Crime Network, what they found seemed shocking, especially as the area south of Chicago seemed quiet and relatively crime free.

First, the cops found a dead man, Jacob “Jake” Lambert, 32, “shot dead in a car” in the driveway. However that wasn’t the end of the tragic scene. Moving indoors, they also discovered a much bigger true crime. There, they found the bodies of Patrick and Stacy Forde.

Frank and Stacy were the parents of the man in the driveway. The couple were discovered “on the first floor of the house not far from the front door.”

Mental Health Issues

Checking it out, per Scallywag and Vagabond, Jenna Strouble shared two young kids with Lambert. On another note, and watch this potentially play out in court, the outlet also reported:

Deputies were previously called to a domestic battery at the house they shared in January last year – which ended with Strouble being involuntarily committed.

Anyway, Strouble fled the home and returned to Indiana. Naturally, that involves an extradition for the crimes in Illinois.

Evidence Seems Clear

Chris Stewart on Law & Crime explained that police didn’t have to look far for the suspect. He said that “this case does not appear to be a who done it.” Apparently, cops recovered a “firearm…from her residence” that matched the weapon used in the killings.

On top of that, officials said Strouble “made incriminating statements” after her arrest. Those who knew Jenna Strouble or followed her on social media saw a very different side. Always being a “smiling mom” in social media photos, it seems shocking to see she now faces nine counts of first-degree murder.

Often, that confuses people, because three people died. However, sometimes the prosecutors push for multiple charges to hopefully pin the suspect down with at least one of them.

The Victims

Apparently, the victims were well-respected in the community, and Jacob had recently given up all potentially addictive substances. Nevertheless, it seems that the couple clashed a bit over the years because their relationship seemed on-again, off-again.

Given the assault and commitment in 2025, clearly, anger issues might have motivated the bigger true crime of triple murder. At the moment, it’s not clear when she’ll appear in circuit court because she’s currently held in Lake County, Indiana, pending extradition.

Viewers React

Of course, those people who follow crime on social media had plenty to say. One of them noted, “I went to school with Jake, nice guy. Our community is shaken.” And that illustrates how most of the local folks feel about the murders..

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • This is horrible! The kids lost both parents and paternal grandparents – who look like the best grandparents ever! Selfish evil woman.
  • Something that I picked up from other sources was after the January 2025 incident she lost custody of the two children. The dad and his parents had custody of the children.
  • It’s gotta be about custody of children. That’s a common issue it seems. I don’t understand it but some parents are nuts.
  • When there is empirical evidence like this, they should just give them instant capital punishment.
