General Hospital news says that if there’s anything that we’ve learned about Steve Burton over the years, it’s that he’s not only a great soap opera actor, but he’s also someone that is very dedicated to his family life.
General Hospital News: Is Steve Burton Quitting Port Charles Again?
That’s why there’s some speculation suggesting that one of the reasons why he decided to step back from his role as Jason Morgan on the hit ABC soap is because he needed a little time off to spend with his wife, Michelle Lundstrom.
While the actor didn’t give any details as to why he decided to take a short break from acting, he did release a short message to his fans.
Earlier in February, Steve said, “Hey everyone, I wanted to share that I’ll be taking a short break from General Hospital. I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer.”
If that weren’t enough, he also said, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer.”
However, a lot of General Hospital fans believe that Steve isn’t just taking a break from the soap. There’s also a good chance that this might be part of his soft exit as he might be looking to step away from the daytime television world altogether.
General Hospital News: What’s Next For Steve Burton?
Sure, his fans absolutely would not want to see that as no one can play Jason Morgan the same way that he does but at the same time, Steve knows it’s time for a change.
Now, whether or not that means his time in Port Charles is over remains to be seen but there’s no doubt that Steve is definitely thinking more of the future now than the present.
So far Steve Burton himself has not made any comments about the speculation about his future on the show. But at the same time, he hasn’t given a definite return date, either.
This means that Steve could come back to work sometime during the summer, later on this year, or even in 2027 with the way that things are going.
That said, we will definitely update you with all of the latest details the moment they come in. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
