GH Van Hansis Pays Homage To “Clueless” In Recent General Hospital Scenes

General Hospital spoilers hint that Lucas Jones’ recent scenes with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) were both tender and heartwarming.

While the doctors have never really gotten along, Lucas truly stepped up to the plate to #FreeBritt by helping snag those Huntington’s disease meds from Wyndemere (which he may regret doing in the days ahead).

As the two said ‘goodbye’ (or so they thought), actor Van Hansis reveals an interesting way he tipped his hat off to the movie, “Clueless” during their talk at the pier.

A Clueless Goodbye

During the Monday, March 23 episode, as Lucas passed on the medicine vials and Britt was waiting for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) so they could skip town, Jones tells his colleague, “Do you know what’s even crazier than the two of us finding our people during this disaster?”

Britt asks, “What?” Lucas replies, “I think I might actually miss you. I mean, just a little bit, and probably sporadically, but still.”

On his Instagram Stories, Hansis confessed to fans that he ad-libbed the scene as a way to honor the 1995 movie classic, Clueless, which stars Alicia Silverstone and the late Brittany Murphy.

Hansis wrote the following on his IG stories, “I’ve been nominated for 5 Daytime Emmys. My claim to fame, though, is being able to change a line to ‘sporadically’ in honor of the late, great Brittany Murphy.’”

I Hope Not Sporadically …

Fans of the movie Clueless may remember that Silverstone’s character, Cher, was trying to “better” the life of a new friend who just arrived at the school, Murphy’s character, Tai.

In addition to a makeover and doing some exercise, as well as reading, Cher taught her the word ‘sporadically’. She encouraged her to use it throughout the day so that it fully entered her vocabulary.

Hansis uploaded the scene in Clueless on his Instagram Stories where Paul Rudd’s character, Josh, tells Tai, “Be seeing ya!” where she responds, “Yeah, I hope not sporadically!”

With that said, as Britt’s and Jason’s plans to leave Port Charles fell completely off the rails during Tuesday’s show, it looks like Britt and Lucas will be seeing a lot more of each other than they anticipated.
