GH Star Chris Mckenna Gets Emotional About Soap Letting Him Go

Chris McKenna joined the General Hospital cast in February 2025, and made his debut as Agent Jack Brennan a few weeks later.  This wasn’t the fan fave’s first soap rodeo.

Prior to arriving in Port Charles, McKenna appeared on One Life To Live, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.

Agent Jack Brennan was included in several big storylines over the course of two years.  On September 1, McKenna’s character was declared dead and he made his official exit from the soap.

After the actor was cut loose, he made it clear in interviews and on social media that it wasn’t his choice and he was devastated they killed off his character.

Recently, the soap star sat down with his former castmates Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton on their popular Podcast.  The General Hospital ex-cast member went in to depth about losing his job on the show.

GH Actor Opens Up About Getting Fired

During his interview on “Stone Cold And The Jackal,” Chris McKenna revealed that this time getting fired from the soap opera hit a little different.

Agent Brennan’s portrayer explained, “I have a kid now. It was the first time I got fired with a kid.  So that was the first time that I had to deal with that like, ‘Oh, there’s someone counting on me.’ I’ve been a Peter Pan my whole life… So that’s what I had to worry about. But, you know, once I got over the initial blow of that, there’s plenty of things on my plate that I’ve been meaning to get back to.”

Chris also went on to share what projects he will be working on now that he has so much free time.  It turns out he just sold a script!  Do you miss Chris McKenna?  Or were you happy to see Jack Brennan go?
