General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen), has experienced a significant evolution in her character over the past few years.
There was indeed a period when Willow epitomized the classic soap opera heroine, fitting neatly into the archetype of the “good girl.”
Willow Has Switched Sides, From “Good Girl” To Villainous Vixen
However, those days are now firmly in the rearview mirror-Willow has transitioned into the realm of the “bad girl,” as she has engaged in some truly villainous actions to achieve her goals.
We have all heard her repeat the phrase, “I’ll do anything for my children,” more times than we can possibly count.
Yet, her relentless pursuit of custody over Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko), does not absolve her of the numerous outrageous crimes she has committed.
Willow has taken on the role of a baby stalker and even managed to drive Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) out of town.
She had to flee along with Michael Corinthos’s (Rory Gibson) youngest daughter, Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford).
Willow Shot Drew Twice And Tried To Frame Michael
Willow also shot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) twice, attempted to blame Michael, and ultimately began drugging Drew into a state of paralysis.
We can’t overlook the fact that Willow was prepared to blackmail her own mother and the one person who has shown her genuine loyalty throughout all this.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) didn’t hold it against Willow, but perhaps she should have!
Nina has certainly faced some terrible luck in the daughter department since Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) was also a complete disaster.
Unfortunately, Nina never had the chance to be a true mother to Nelle, as she only discovered their real connection after Nelle had already passed away.
Nina’s Loss Of Nelle Is Probably Why She Lets Willow Get Away With So Much
This might be part of the reason why Nina is so eager to ignore Willow’s shortcomings and keep defending her, even when it’s clear that Willow should be in prison or a mental health facility. N
ina has clung to her second-chance daughter and the last opportunity she has to fulfill her role as a mom.
Regrettably, if Willow isn’t careful, she could find herself on the same dangerous path as Nelle.
Characters like Willow, who spiral out of control in soap operas, often end up written into a corner with no escape.
Redemption could be a possibility, but it’s also likely that the GH writers will eventually decide to kill off Willow just like they did with Nelle.
