GH Spoilers: Willow Confesses To Nina – Will Mom Keep Her Secret, Or Save Michael?

General Hospital spoilers report Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) is going to confess something to her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), this week.

I have a few ideas about what that confession might entail, and I suspect it could leave Nina in a familiar but very uncomfortable position.

If Willow tells her mother what she’s really been up to, that’s going to leave both of them wondering what the other’s motives might be moving forward.

Nina has developed a bit more of a conscience over the last couple of years since finding out Willow was her daughter.

In contrast, Willow’s moral fabric seems to be eroding by the hour. So, if she tells Nina what she has done — and plans to do — to Michael, will Mommy Dearest keep her secret in confidence?

Coming Clean

It sounds like Willow is intent on telling her mother the truth this week, but we don’t know how much of it will come to light.

In addition, we don’t know the real reason behind her motivation in telling her mom the truth. 

She could be expecting to have to rely on her, or may be coming back around to collect on some sort of emotional debt after the way Nina’s botched alibi screwed things up for her during the trial.

Either way, if Willow tells Nina what she did to Drew, all bets are off for how Mommy will handle it.

This Feels Familiar

Nina has known the truth about her daughter’s misdeeds before — just like that pesky affair with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). She kept Willow’s secret even when she knew it would blow up her family.

As usual, Nina hoped her daughter would do the right thing, and watched like a car wreck she couldn’t turn away from as she didn’t.

The same cascade of events played out when Willow shot Drew; Nina just doesn’t know it yet that she actually did it. Nina has been known to keep some secrets for her own benefit in the past, too; Nixon Falls comes to mind.

Guilt is a Double-Edged Sword

Nina has made peace with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). She seems to finally be operating from a more mature mindset and wants a similar form of peace for her daughter and grandchildren. Drew certainly doesn’t provide for that though.

Learning that Willow only married Drew to get her kids back was fulfilling for Nina. Learning that she actually shot the guy and is now plotting to destroy the father of her children is another story.

It’s not likely that Nina will feel that’s in the kids’ best interest, even if she doesn’t adore Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).
