General Hospital spoilers gossip a new rumor is making its way through the soap fandom, and speculates that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is not just a good guy or a bad guy who is bad from the dead to ruin lives and upend the worlds of everyone he ever cared about.
Instead, we must consider that there are two Nathans running around Port Charles, though never at the same time. That would fully catapult us into the world of clones, versus some kind of project that merely revives people from near- or complete death.
Same Old Nathan?
Everyone keeps saying Nathan is just like his old self, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) clearly had no doubt in her mind that Nathan is Nathan when she shared as much with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), bracing her for her world to be completely upside down when she comes home from that Boston clinic.
But just because Felicia and others see nothing but the Nathan they always knew when they look into his eyes, that doesn’t mean there isn’t more to the story that they haven’t even been exposed to.
This whole time, we’ve been thinking there may be two sides to Nathan, rather than two separate Nathans altogether.
GH Spoilers Suggest It’s Not Such a Bad Thing
There is an upside to this idea that there are two Nathans. Now, don’t ask me how anyone proceeds with life with both of them in the picture, but this leaves room for only one of those Nathans to be invested in exploring his feelings for Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening).
Arguably, we’d want that to be the “bad” Nathan. Meanwhile, the good old boy we all fell in love with a decade ago would be the real Nathan.
Where does that leave Lulu, who still looks like she thought she was falling for her bestie’s husband and was okay with it? Meh!
Few Glitches Have Kept Us Guessing
If it’s true that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) may be behind all of this, Maxie might be more willing to forgive Lulu for falling for his tricks.
After all, no one fell for Peter’s lies harder than Maxie — who fiercely defended him to everyone else in her life at the time when she was unable to see what they saw in him.
Remember when Nathan broke the chain of custody at work? We also can’t forget that he has no recollection of the last seven years of his life before he turned up at the hospital.
Add to this that he has hardly been concerned about Maxie’s status in a coma and has instead been flirting with danger with Lulu.
Those are not hallmarks of the same old Nathan we knew and loved! Is Nathan pulling double duty, and if so, are the two Nathans even aware that each other exists? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
