GH Spoilers: The Real Reason Alexis Believes In Willow’s Innocence

General Hospital spoilers suggest that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is desperate to get Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) exonerated in Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting.

One major reason is that she wants more access to her granddaughter, Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante); however, Alexis has also mentioned more than once that she believes in Willow’s innocence. Why is that?

Alexis Davis Was Once A Suspect In The Case

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Alexis was once a top suspect in Drew’s shooter case, but the police abandoned looking closer into her motive, because the evidence mounted against Willow.

With that said, as the plot has thickened with the case, and plot twists have placed suspicion on Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), while Alexis has been on the sidelines.

Prior to Alexis’s deal with Drew to represent Willow, she wasn’t getting to see Scout at all. In fact, Drew had placed restraining orders on her and the rest of Scout’s family, outside of him and Willow (obvi).

The culprit in any soap opera “who-dun-it” storyline is always the person fans least expect.

So, if Alexis is touting Willow’s innocence, how does she know her client is not guilty if all the evidence gathered seems to indicate otherwise?

Did Alexis Davis Shoot Drew Cain?

Could another plot twist surface where Alexis is the shooter? It would be very ironic if the one pulling the trigger was also the one trying to prove Willow’s innocence!

A lot of GH fans believe that Willow could have shot Drew, so why is it that Alexis is adamant that she didn’t?

Could it be because Alexis was the one to try to end Drew’s life? If something happened to him, she’d become Scout’s guardian and caregiver, which would free her granddaughter of the prison that Drew has locked her in by alienating her from her family, namely her brother, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn). Alexis knows Willow is innocent because she’s the one who shot Drew herself.
