General Hospital spoilers say that there are a lot of rumors floating around about the possibility of seeing Josslyn Jacks recast with another actress, and there seems to be a particular reason behind it, too.

Is Josslyn Being Recast?

For the last several years, Joss has been played by actress Eden McCoy.

She was once a wide-eyed, innocent young woman who was just trying to navigate life as a young teenager in the fictional town of Port Charles.

However, a lot of viewers believe that the character has been going in the wrong direction, and many aren’t sure if it has to do with the writing or the actress portraying her.

That’s because Josslyn has become someone who behaves as though she’s got all the answers to solve the world’s problems.

And not only that, but she’s become a little arrogant about it, too.

Clearly, many General Hospital fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

One viewer suggested that the negative reaction to Josslyn might have more to do with Eden McCoy’s portrayal than the character herself.

However, these are fan opinions and speculation, not confirmation that a recast is being considered.

What’s Really Going On With Josslyn?

Another critic wrote:

“Most people cannot keep the roles they had as kids into adulthood successfully, it’s kind of a rarity and that’s totally fine. I actually think a recast and a different approach might change the way people view the character but yet it seems for some reason she’s off limits.”

And then there was this comment as well:

“I think the issue is more about poor writing for the character than it is Eden’s acting. They’re writing her to be an arrogant know it all. It’s not like they’re writing her to be one way and she’s taking it upon herself to act differently.”

Of course, Josslyn’s transformation into a WSB agent has given fans plenty to debate.

In fact, Soap Opera Spy previously questioned whether Josslyn’s WSB storyline was the right direction for the character.

Her increasingly complicated assignments and determination to take matters into her own hands have certainly changed how some viewers see her.

Meanwhile, Josslyn’s strained relationship with Carly has also become a major storyline, raising questions about how much her character has changed.

Could Eden McCoy Really Be Replaced?

There has already been speculation about Eden McCoy’s future on the ABC soap.

Earlier this year, Soap Opera Spy reported on rumors suggesting Josslyn’s role could be recast.

However, those reports were based on unconfirmed rumors, and there has been no official announcement that Eden McCoy is leaving General Hospital or that producers are seeking a replacement.

For now, whether Josslyn will eventually be recast remains to be seen.

I think the bigger problem with Josslyn is the direction the writers have taken her character.

She used to be much easier to root for, but lately, she acts like she knows better than everyone else.

That doesn’t necessarily mean Eden McCoy needs to be replaced. A change in writing could make all the difference.

And let’s face it, a new actress wouldn’t automatically fix a character that viewers are already frustrated with.
