GH Spoilers: Is Ethan Turning Against Sonny By Joining His Enemies?

General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) may have come back to town to act as a mole in Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) organization. Is Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) son secretly working for the WSB?

Ethan’s Dramatic Return

Ethan made a dramatic return to Port Charles during the episode on Friday, April 17, and left a mysterious voicemail to an unknown person about arriving in town.

He told them he’d be at the pier daily around noon, hoping to see them soon.  Ethan quickly met up with his sister, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), before rushing off to see Sonny.

When he got to Sonny’s house, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) answered the door, and these two reconnected before he spoke with the mob boss. Luke and Sonny were great friends, meaning he would do anything to protect the man’s kids and help him out.

Nathan Dean Explained Why Ethan Is Really In Town

Ethan requested a job from Sonny, and given his con-artist skills – along with other abilities – Sonny will likely hire him without hesitation.

Sonny must surround himself with trustworthy individuals, and Ethan seems to meet that requirement in every way; at least, that’s what Sonny believes. Ethan told Lulu that he returned to town to reconnect with his old family and friends.

However, in a recent interview, actor Nathan Dean clarified that this was not true. Although Ethan was considered a hero the last time fans encountered him in 2023, many things can shift rapidly.

It was evident that Ethan was not being honest with Lulu during their meeting at the docks, so what truly motivated his return to PC?

Ethan Often Upset Influential People When He Pulled Cons

Ethan is recognized for his adventurous nature, and as a con artist, he often upset some very influential individuals.

It’s also quite possible that he became involved in illegal activities and could be under someone’s control; fans remember that when Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) returned in 2024, he was working with the feds.

They had proof of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) confessing to running Sonny’s crime syndicate, and the organization was using that against Jason to manipulate him.

Recently, the WSB took Jason away for allegedly shooting Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) mentioned that it wouldn’t surprise him if the organization coerced Jason into becoming a WSB agent, given his abilities as a henchman.

Could Another Plot Like Jason Forced To Work For The FBI  Be Ahead?

Could this be hinting at another plot coming soon? Is it possible that the WSB has some secrets about Ethan, and instead of putting him in Steinmauer, they want him to act as a spy to take down Sonny for good?

It might not even be the WSB, but rather the FBI, who is finally trying to put the mob boss behind bars!  Additionally, they could be threatening Ethan with prison time, not just for him but also for his mother, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).

Holly has finally found her footing with her own scams, but back in 2024, she was involved with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and was stealing diamonds.

The WSB Might Have Something On Holly

The WSB might possess evidence that could land her in jail, so the last thing Ethan would want is to see his aging mother imprisoned. There was a potential romantic connection between Kristina and Ethan previously, but they decided to just be good friends.

Still, this could complicate matters for him if he’s trying to take down Sonny, making it look like he’s in deep trouble with this “con” job.

General Hospital spoilers suggest that the last thing Ethan desires is to betray Sonny.  But he may find himself caught in a difficult situation, so only time will reveal what happens next.
