The Tony Geary Memorial Episode
This Friday, every memory leads back to Luke Spencer as the iconic character and his portrayer are honored.
Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) bends over and picks up something from a bookcase: she tearfully looks at a photo of her father and says, “Hi, Dad.”
Then Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) talks to Lulu-she says you and I are going to honor your dad.
A scene of Laura Collins (Genie Francis) in a church pew is shown as candles are lit on the altar-she says, “Luke, you never left me.”
At Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) house, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) says, “Luke was one of my friends, my brother,” followed by a scene in the Brown Dog Bar, as Lulu and Tracy toast.
Luke Spencer The Character Died In 2022
Although Anthony Geary just passed away on December 14, 2024, Luke was killed in a cable car accident caused by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) in Austria on the show.
Previous recaps of General Hospital indicate that his remains were later discovered, and his wife Tracy had him cremated and returned to Port Charles to scatter his ashes.
They held a memorial service that was interrupted by Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier), who claimed to be another widow of Luke, much to Laura’s dismay.
This incident occurred in January 2022, and she was arrested a few months later, sent to Steinmauer after a notable chase by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) in disguise.
Valentin accused her of stealing the Ice Princess necklace, and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) were also present, searching for him.

An Additional Promo Ran In Thursday’s Episode As A Commercial
At the pier where Luke departed into eternity at the conclusion of Tony’s final episode, his still-living best friends and family gather for a farewell.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), Tracy, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), Laura Collins (Genie Francis), and Lulu are present, with all but Sonny holding cups.
Several floating votive candles are placed in the water in front of them, beneath white paper bags.
Elizabeth was Lucky Spencer’s (Jonathan Jackson) first love, and she likely represents him, even though we do not see Ethan Lovett (last portrayed by James Ryan), his son with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).
Two Flashbacks Will Be Part Of The Episode
Also in the promo shown as a commercial, two flashbacks are shown; one, Sonny recalls the moment he first met Luke, and there’s a flashback to that scene.
Luke inquires, “Who are you?” to which Sonny replies, “Sonny Corinthos.” Sonny had come to Port Charles to take control of Frank Smith’s (Joe Cortese) territory, which belonged to Jennifer’s father.
Next, we see a tearful Laura saying, “Thank you for the love of a lifetime,” as they are shown dancing in the Triple L diner they operated while evading Frank.
The scene shifts to Luke alone, accompanied by a voiceover from Geary saying, “It’s time to let go,” from his final episode that aired shortly after his passing in real life.
